Last night I had the honour of inducting The Push into the Hall of Fame at the Music Victoria Awards. The Push is a particularly special organisation for me. They helped kick start my career at the age of 13, and have played an instrumental role in making me the manager I am today. I've been to more than my fair share of Pushover shows, so it was a milestone moment when they started booking the bands I was working with, including Bodyjar, Violent Soho and The Amity Affliction. Kate Duncan has worked tirelessly to shape The Push into what it is today; it sits on a national stage having gone from strength to strength. The team continue to deliver incredible shows for young people, music career expos, and now a national mentoring program which we are honoured to support at UNIFIED Music Group. Kate & I came up through the industry together, so I've seen first-hand how tirelessly she has worked to platform new talent, and champion new ideas. Congratulations to everyone involved with The Push, and to Kate for everything that you have done, and will continue to do for Australian music. Lastly, a special shout out to Aidan McLaren, Rhett McLaren and the team at NYE on the Hill for winning Best Regional Festival. And to the team at Lonely Lands Agency with RVG taking out Best Group! Yesterday, ALWAYS LIVE, together with UNIFIED Music Group and Mantra Roots, announced that acclaimed Indian folk and classical singer Maithili Thakur will be coming to Melbourne for her debut live performance in Australia.   This is an exclusive one-off show at Margaret Court Arena on Sunday, 1 December.   After appearing on Indian Idol, Maithili has earned a loyal fan base around the world and became a prominent figure in the Indian music scene. She showcases the richness of Indian folk traditions, and we are proud to bring together this special evening so people can experience the magic of her melodious voice.   Huge congratulations to Caleb Williams on pulling this incredible show together!

Bush Music Fund is a pathway for First Nations acts from remote and outer regional Australia through financial help to get equipment and tour, help set up their infrastructure and find gig opportunities. The ARIA Awards nominations were announced last week, and we are proud to see many artists within the group nominated. Huge congratulations to Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers for their nomination for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Teenage Joans for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album. Over at Lonely Lands Agency, I want to shout out to C.O.F.F.I.N for also being nominated for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album, The Beefs for Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement, Budjerah for Best Video, and of course the remarkable Tones and I for an impressive five nominations for Best Video, Best Australian Live Act, Best Cover Art, Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement, and Best Solo Artist. And a special mention to Zach Bryan for his nomination in the Most Popular International Artist category. A huge congratulations to all of the teams involved. This is such a special opportunity for all who work so tirelessly and put their heart and soul into what they do. We can’t wait to celebrate all that’s great about Australian music at the ARIA Awards in November.

The UNIFIED Grant is back for 2024, offering innovative founders who are inspired by music, the opportunity to fund and build out their ideas.    The UNIFIED Grant offers $5,000 to five creative projects that enhance the Australian independent music community.   The initiative is open to anyone who is running a business that positively impacts the local music industry, whether it be through delivering creative services, helping artists grow fans, or developing new technology. UNIFIED Music Group wants to help foster new business ideas and empower founders to propel their projects forward.   Applications for the $5,000 Grant are open from 13 September and close at 5:00pm (AEDT) on 22 October.
