Tourism NT is a Northern Territory Government statutory authority responsible for promoting the Northern Territory as a must-do, unique holiday destination. Tourism NT sits within the Northern Territory Government Department of Tourism and Culture. The primary role of Tourism NT is the market the Northern Territory as a desirable visitor destination and facilitate the sustainable growth of the tourism industry in the Northern Territory. Tourism NT also plays a significant role in facilitating the development of and investment in tourism infrastructure and experiences.

    The 2024 Brolga NT Tourism Awards have soared to new heights, with an impressive 94 nominations—marking a five-year high! 🚀    These prestigious awards honour outstanding NT tourism businesses that excel across all aspects of their operations.  Last year H on Mitchell Apartment Hotel took home the 4-4.5 Star Deluxe Accommodation award.  This locally owned gem supports regional businesses by showcasing local artwork and features the acclaimed Lizards Bar and Restaurant, known for its exceptional dining.    General Manager, Sean DeSouza said the accolade inspired the business to continue raising the bar in hospitality, both locally and nationally. “The recognition not only highlights the exceptional service and dedication of our team but also solidifies our position as a leading hotel in the Northern Territory,” he said.   Join us for the 2024 Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards gala in Alice Springs on 9 November.    Tickets go on sale 11 September, visit www.brolgaawards.com.au.

    We're beyond thrilled to be recognised on the world stage with two major wins at the World Travel Awards 2024, announced at a ceremony in the Philippines overnight. - Oceania's Leading Tourist Attraction – Wintjiri Wiṟu   - Oceania's Responsible Tourism Award – Ayers Rock Resort.  Congratulations to our phenomenal teams and especially to Aṉangu and the Wintjiri Wiṟu Working Group for bringing Wintjiri Wiṟu to life- these awards are a testament to their vision, to the strength of Aṉangu culture; and to the love and respect we all have for Uluṟu.     Cruising is back on! 🚢 Today, the Coral Princess arrives in Darwin, bringing over 2500 passengers and crew, officially kicking off the NT’s cruise season. Arriving from Cairns and en route to the stunning Kimberley coast, she’s the first large ship of the season, well ahead of the usual October start. And that’s just the beginning! On Sunday, we’ll welcome the Carnival Splendor, fresh from a refurbishment in Singapore, with up to 3,000 passengers and 1,100 crew set to explore our tropical city. This season will see a record-breaking 113 ships docking in Darwin, with an estimated 80,000 passengers, including two large cruise ships carrying over 4,000 passengers each. Ayers Rock Resort’s Wintjiri Wiru light show has just won the prestigious Global Award for Innovation at the 2024 Skift IDA Awards, celebrating excellence in design, creativity, and innovation.   It’s been an incredible month for Voyages Australia, also taking home three national awards: · Arnguli, Desert Gardens - Readers' Choice 2024, Australian Good Food Guide. · Tali Wiru - Winner in PREMIUM DINING and TOURISM RESTAURANT categories, 2024 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards (NT & QLD).   Just another example of the world class tourism experiences available in the Northern Territory.   We hear Tali Wiru is in the running for a National Restaurant & Catering Award too — stay tuned!

    Did you enjoy the Daminmin Festival over the weekend? We sure did! Activities included clap stick making, weaving, spear making, didgeridoo making, indigo dyeing, bark painting, boomerang and billabong painting to name a few. A night of celebration featuring performance from many artists including the Wairuk band, David Spry and the Green Ant Mob, Graham Kenyon and Jim Moginie. Darwin Community Arts
