Last week Australia Marketplace Korea 2024 was held in Seoul, from Thursday 29 to Friday 30 August 2024. The event facilitated 2,700 meetings between 70 Australian sellers from 57 organisations and 47 Korean buyers, paving the way for new business opportunities and strengthening relationships. Korea has demonstrated remarkable resilience post-pandemic, achieving the fastest recovery among key markets. This growth has propelled Korea to become Australia's 8th largest market, with 353,160 visitors and a 23 per cent increase in arrivals for the 12 months ending in June 2024. The scene is dramatic and misty, with ethereal light adding a magical quality to the landscape. Sharing some good news! #ComeAndSayGday #SeeAustralia
On behalf of the Australian Government I welcome the unanimous decision of the Board of Tourism Australia to reappoint Ms Phillipa Harrison as its Managing Director for the next five years. Phillipa Harrison was first appointed as Tourism Australia’s Managing Director in late 2019, bringing a wealth of knowledge and extensive tourism industry experience to the role, which has been critical in guiding the organisation and tourism industry through the most challenging period in its history. Ms Harrison’s strong leadership during the 2019-20 Summer bushfires and through the global COVID-19 pandemic, to where we are now with international tourism’s recovery, has been exceptional and shows she is the right person to lead Tourism Australia into the future. Tourism Australia, under Ms Harrison’s leadership, is continuing to help drive the industry’s recovery through international marketing efforts, including the global ‘Come and Say G’day’ campaign, which has achieved tremendous success overseas. Following Australia's most successful #Olympics we thought we'd share our top performing #Paris24 social posts. The team published 21 social media posts across our global social channels, generating 3.3 million impressions and 2.3 million video views. We also jumped on several reactive opportunities by engaging on various topical and trending social moments around the Games and weaved Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games messaging into our always-on social content. Our top performing still was "Why is Australia so good at swimming?" - a timely response to Journalist Franklin Leonard's viral question on X, 'Why is Australia so good at swimming?’ https://lnkd.in/gQybQHaq Our top performing Reel was an Instagram collaboration with the Brisbane 2032 social team, where we sent our athletes a heartfelt reminder of home. https://lnkd.in/gTN8nBj3 ID: A montage featuring quintessential Australian scenes, from coastal, island, and outback landscapes, to iconic wildlife like kangaroos, and a blend of modern and ancient culture.
