Yolanda has been an incredible asset to the team, and her leadership, dedication, and vision have played a pivotal role in our growth. We’re excited to see the impact she’ll make in this new role! At the same time, we’re delighted to welcome Gloria Vetekina to the Mangrove Housing family as our new Housing Services Manager. Gloria brings a wealth of experience and passion for supporting communities, and we’re looking forward to all that she’ll accomplish with us. On 5 September the dedicated team from HOWSS (Housing Older Women’s Support Service) took part in the The Forgotten Women Live Like Her Challenge, by sleeping in their cars overnight, to raise money to provide more housing for homeless women over 55 through The Forgotten Women project. This is the third year that Footprints Community has taken part in the event. More than 40,000 Queensland women over the age of 55 are homeless, with over 700 based in greater Brisbane. Known as the hidden homeless, these women are doing it tough by living in a car, couch surfing, living under the threat of violence and/or physically hiding. Congratulations to the HOWSS team for raising $5744 through their effort and a huge THANK YOU to those who donated to this worthy cause. Last week, #TeamFTI proudly participated in The Forgotten Women's Live Like Her Challenge in Brisbane. They slept in their cars for a night to raise funds and awareness for women over 55 who face hard times and homelessness. Our team raised over $10,000 for the cause - a huge thank you to everyone who supported us and contributed to this fantastic achievement! We were also honoured to be a sponsor of the night, supporting this inspiring event that aligns perfectly with our commitment to fostering positive change.
