  • As we begin another wonderful year of youth music, Tasmanian Youth Orchestras farewells TYO’s longstanding Board Chair Jonathan Duddles, who stepped down from the TYO Board at the end of 2023.   Jonathan – pictured here at the 'TYO in the Goods Shed’ community event in 2023 – has been the Chair of TYO since 2012 and in that time has made an enormous contribution to the organisation. Jonathan's leadership brought significant changes and growth, including building a diverse skill-based Board; and guiding TYO’s transition from a volunteer-run model to a professional statewide arts organisation providing outstanding programs for hundreds of young Tasmanians each year. Jonathan, thank you for your extraordinary commitment and dedication to TYO over so many years and your strong strategic vision for TYO’s future. Your contributions have been invaluable; and we are all immensely thankful for the positive impact of your leadership. Bravo!    We are delighted to advise that Sally Chandler will lead TYO as Board Chair in 2024. Sally, who Co-Chaired with Jonathan in 2023, brings exceptional governance and business skills to the role, with 20 years’ experience as an International Trade Advisor with Austrade and the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We are also pleased to welcome Tony Crehan as our newest Board member and Deputy Chair. Tony has more than 20 years' experience in governance and the education sector and is the current Executive Director of Independent Schools Tasmania. Together we look forward to an exciting 2024.
