The ribbon has been cut for #SydneyGateway! Today, we celebrated the completion of the Sydney Gateway project ahead of its official opening this Sunday, 1 September. NSW Minister for Roads John Graham, Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton, Transport for NSW officials and frontline workers gathered to mark this significant milestone. The new toll-free connection will enhance connectivity to Sydney Airport from all parts of the city, especially Western Sydney. To manage traffic flow, Sydney Airport will double the number of roadside staff across the precinct to ensure passengers can get in and out smoothly, as well as switching on overflow drop offs to manage traffic flow at peak periods. Check out these virtual drives to familiarise yourself with the new roads on Transport for NSW's website. 📸 SALTY DINGO

Juneyao Airlines Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of direct flights between Sydney and Shanghai, scheduled to operate four times per week from 17 December 2024! Sydney will be the first airport in Australia to welcome #JuneyaoAir and the airline will become the ninth mainland-based carrier to operate at #SydneyAirport, the highest number ever, reinforcing SYD's position as Australia's premier gateway to China. Juneyao’s entry will also push seat capacity from Sydney into mainland China to 101% of December 2019 levels, with 53,000 weekly seats. Our CEO Scott Charlton stated, “We are proud to welcome Juneyao Air to Sydney Airport, the home of Chinese airlines in Australia. The introduction of Juneyao’s services in December provides passengers from mainland China with unprecedented choice and convenience when traveling to Sydney. This expansion is a strong vote of confidence in Sydney as the premier gateway to Australia and underscores the enduring appeal of NSW to Chinese travellers. We’re especially pleased to have worked in partnership with Destination NSW and the NSW Government to deliver this service.” More: https://lnkd.in/g5xjPPdG
