About us

One of the largest and most trusted kids' health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) raises funds to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it. We've been delivering on this promise for the last 35 years, raising millions every year for a collective of two major children’s hospitals, specialised care services and cutting edge paediatric research operating across NSW. A conduit, an enabler and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure that funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s health care - from the hospitals wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs. We truly believe there is no possible greater impact for a donated dollar in kids’ health.

  • We are thrilled to share that four talented researchers have become the first recipients of the Kids Research Clinician Researcher Fellowships! The newly established fellowship scheme was designed to drive research and innovation across Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) and was made possible by the generosity of you - our Movement of Many. Following a rigorous application process, the successful recipients are: Dr Bernadette Prentice, Paediatric Respiratory Staff Specialist at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. Her Fellowship project will be focused on the early identifiers of diabetes in children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Dr Laurel Mimmo, Senior Research Fellow with the Nursing Research Unit at Kids Research. Laurel's Fellowship project will work to improve the hospital experience for children with intellectual disability. Dr Cathryn Crowle, Senior Occupational Therapist and Co-Lead of Research in the Grace Centre for Neonatal Intensive Care based at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Cathryn's Fellowship project will pilot the feasibility of universal cerebral palsy screening in infancy. Dr Himanshu Popat, Newborn Intensivist and Co-Head of the Grace Newborn Intensive Care Unit based at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Himanshu's Fellowship project will explore the effectiveness of delayed cord clamping in babies with congenital heart disease. We look forward to sharing more about these incredible researchers and their projects over the coming weeks. Thank you for helping make research like this possible and changing the future for sick kids.

  • A big thank you to Allens for hosting our Chief Philanthropy Officer, Colin Allen, as a panellist in their recent Philanthropy Panel Discussion. Colin joined two other inspiring grant recipients, Rebecca Fitzpatrick from Lou's Place and Melissa Abu-Gazaleh from Top Blokes Foundation to talk about the incredible work our organisations are doing. The panel tackled important topics like the power of philanthropy, its impact on communities, and how strategic partnerships like these drive meaningful change. We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with the wonderful Allens staff and discuss the far-reaching benefits of giving. Thank you Allens for your continued support in making a difference for children's health.

  • 🌟 Last night was a wonderful occasion, as we gathered to honour some of our remarkable supporters during our annual Donor Recognition Evening! 🎉 It's moments like these that remind us of the power of community and the impact we are having on the future of kids' health. There were many standout moments throughout the night, but here are a few that made the night extra special; 🥇 We were truly inspired by Jasmine Greenwood, our first patient ambassador and a two-time Paralympian, who shared her incredible journey from patient to Olympic medalist. 🥇 Her story is a beacon of hope for all. 🎉A special shoutout to the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia for becoming an inductee into the John Beveridge Society contributing an astonishing total of $25 million over the course of their partnership with us! 👏 ✨And let’s not forget the insights shared by our dedicated Rehab2Kids clinicians, Kylie French and Catherine O'Sullivan, who illustrated how our collective philanthropy helps empower them to provide exceptional care to children on their path to recovery. 💖 Together, we’re not just changing lives; we’re shaping a brighter future! 🌈 Thank you for being part of this journey!

  • At SCHF, we believe in breaking free from the confines of the traditional office. Our Work From Anywhere Policy ✈️ allows our team to explore new horizons for up to three months each year. Kellie Yee, our Brand Engagement Lead, is currently soaking in the sights while working from Japan. We caught up with her to discover how this experience has been so far. Firstly, why Japan? I was planning to come to Japan for my friend's birthday, and Ive lived in Japan before and know the language (albeit rusty) - so thought why not stay and work here! Why were you excited to use this benefit? I was born with the travel bug ✈️(I blame my mum for that) and while Sydney will always be home, I love travelling, trying new food, meeting new people 🧑🤝🧑 and seeing new things. I’ve been at SCHF for over six years and was excited by the opportunity to work from overseas. I love coming to Japan, and not feeling rushed is great – they call me a “deep tourist” over here. Tell us a bit about what you’ve been up to while you’ve been in Japan. I’ve either worked from my apartment (picture 1) or a coworking space called Share Lounge (picture 2).. When working from my apartment in Oomori, I often go around the corner for a mentaiko teishoku (picture 3) – the best lunch sets! 🍱 I also took a day trip to Asakusa to see the annual Samba Festival and the Golen Flame 🔥 on top of the Asahi Beer building (picture 4). Finally, what would be your advice for anyone considering an opportunity like this? Do it! I’m only halfway through my experience and it has been the best so far. There is always something new to experience and learn, so why not from somewhere away from home?! Want to join the team at SCHF and access great perks like this?
