After flying over 20,000 missions in 20 countries, today we bid farewell to our Kookaburra fleet. The Kookaburra MK I was the first drone to deliver a vaccine under a commercial contract, thanks to a competitive tender from Vanuatu’s Ministry of Health and UNICEF in 2018. Kookaburra Fun Facts: • The MK I was 3D printed during the 2018 Startmate program, with the first operations-ready aircraft delivered just days after Demo Day. • A total of 125 Kookaburras were produced in Port Melbourne, Australia. • The MK IV took on the bulk of operations, replacing all other variants by 2022. From Vanuatu to the Democratic Republic of Congo to Michigan, this electric, autonomous aircraft has paved the way for seamless access to the skies. As we look to the future, our Kite aircraft is poised to take the lead in a range of missions, including disaster management, search and rescue, and multirole medical delivery and ISR every day.
