The Chinese rebar standard has been revised and becomes effective today. in 2023 roughly 23% of Chinese rebar did not meet the requirements of the specification and the revision in the specification is designed to close these loopholes. this could potentially increase Chinese vanadium consumption by more than 11,000 metric tons V per year

According to Vanitec’s H1 2024 vanadium production and consumption statistics, overall consumption of vanadium increased to the highest level in many years, driven in large part by a record level in vanadium consumed in Vanadium Flow Batteries. Since its inception in 2022, the #FutureMineralsForum (#FMF) has recorded impressive and unprecedented growth. In 2022, the forum had 32 country representatives at the Ministerial Roundtable, 6 governmental and non-governmental organizations, 3,689 attendees, and 5 MOUs. In 2023, #FMF topped the previous edition with 63 government representatives at the Ministerial Roundtable, 21 governmental and non-governmental organizations, 9,000 attendees, and 60 MOUs. This growth highlights its growing global status and impact on the mineral sector. In 2024, the forum witnessed the participation of 75 government representatives at the Ministerial Roundtable, 35 governmental and non-governmental organizations, 14,000 attendees, and 75 MOUs and business agreements. Now in its fourth edition, #FMF25 will feature 100 government representatives at the Ministerial Roundtable. This extensive collaboration will include working groups composed of government bodies, international organizations, trade associations, and NGOs coming together to drive forward the shared goals of sustainability and innovation in the global mineral sector. FMF 2025 is also focused on delivering investment partnerships in supplier countries across the entire mineral value chain.
