Yesterday, the ReachOut Youth Advocates were invited to share their lived experience and perspectives on social media and reform with the Joint Select Committee on Social Media and Australian Society. The advocates spoke alongside young people representing eSafety Commissioner, Australia’s independent regulator for online safety. One of ReachOut’s key priorities throughout this campaign has been ensuring that young people's voices are heard in the debate about social media bans. The Commonwealth Government’s $20.5 million investment in the National Suicide Prevention Research Fund has made a meaningful difference to the lives of Australians. On behalf of the sector, Suicide Prevention Australia has developed a comprehensive submission to the Draft Advice on the National Suicide Prevention Strategy, taking into account feedback from a number of our members.
