And the award goes to ... Two City of Stonnington pocket parks have taken out the 2024 Landscape Architecture Award for Small Projects at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (Victoria) at a gala event earlier this week. Beating out a quality field of landscape projects, Prahran's Bangs and Mount Street parks were designed by GLAS Landscape Architects, who worked closely with Council to deliver two parks that are small in size but huge in terms of community benefit. The AILA jury commended the Bangs and Mount Street Parks submission as an innovative precedent for small-scale social spaces, offering vibrant, colourful and texture-rich environments inspired by the local neighbourhood and its history. This is not the first time our Mount Street masterplan precinct has been awarded, having taken out the Planning Institute of Australia's Best Planning Idea (Small Project) Award in 2020 and in 2021 being awarded the AILA (Vic) Award for Urban Design.
