Spinal Life Australia and Sporting Wheelies Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists recently took part in a three-day training workshop with Zebrafish Neuro, who travelled all the way from the USA to share their unique training program. Their philosophy is all about movement, including Pilates and floor-based exercises, and how these can support effective rehabilitation following a spinal cord injury. Our team are always excited to hear about new research and fresh perspectives, and this was a fantastic opportunity to grow our skills and support that we offer our clients.

Sporting Wheelies Chief Operating Officer Dane Cross recently spoke with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) about the crucial role grassroots sports programs play in nurturing future Paralympians. Dane's remarks come in response to the Australian Government's announcement of an additional $54.9 million in funding for high-performance Paralympic sports over the next two years – doubling the previous support. We're excited to share our new Adaptive Aquatics program! The program is being delivered in partnership with QUT (Queensland University of Technology) (QUT), at the fully accessible QUT indoor pool at the Gardens Point Campus in Brisbane. An experienced swimming coach will lead participants through a private or group lesson, depending on their preference. The program is open to people with a physical and/or intellectual disability and will be held on Fridays and Saturdays.
