Wonder what it’d be like to move your policing career to South Australia? Peter, who made the move, shares his experience… "I joined South Australia Police in 2012, after a decade of service in the UK, including two years with the Royalty Protection Department. The move wasn’t just about a job; it was about a lifestyle change. In Adelaide, I found a community that feels like family. The mateship here is incredible, and the outdoor lifestyle keeps everyone fit and positive. I love the variety of things to see and do, the beautiful beaches, and the warm weather. It’s a stark contrast to London – less crowded, cleaner, and just feels right. My advice to fellow UK officers? Do it. It’s better to try and see for yourself than to live with regret. Give it two years to settle in, adapt to the Australian way, and I promise you won’t look back." Want to know more? 📣 PSA: “Drink drivers are full of it” Today, South Australia Police served up this freshly brewed road safety campaign to help curb drink driving on South Australian roads. “Full of It” is a grim metaphor for drink drivers who actively choose to get behind the wheel because they’re full of it if they think it’s okay to drive after drinking. Filmed at night in the streets of Port Adelaide, we step into the horror that is the consequences of drink driving when a tricked-up car starts filling up with alcohol and ultimately crashes. The beer/wine filling the car is symbolic of the cumulative effect of each decision made while driving impaired, and the ultimately negative outcome of a crash confronts drivers with the danger of driving after drinking. Last year, drink driving was a factor in 100 serious injuries and 19 lives lost, and police caught 5,595 drink drivers on SA roads. ❌🍻🚗 “Full of It” will run across TV, outdoor and digital channels from today, Wednesday 2 October 2024. Head over to https://lnkd.in/gnjFMya6 to see the ads. 👀 Think it’s okay to drink drive? You’re full of it. #thinkroadsafety #dontdrinkdrive

After completing a final walkthrough this afternoon, South Australia Police handed over the Thebarton Barracks keys to the builders behind the new Women's and Children's Hospital Project. While more than 100 years at the site will never be replicated, we look forward to making memories at our new state-of-the-art facilities, including at Gepps Cross.
