Smiling Mind’s new brand and mission are just the beginning. “Building the right skills and developing healthy habits are crucial for driving the generational change we need in mental health, but equally important is how we communicate and engage with people. The language, tone, and visual approach all shape the conversation to influence real, lasting change.” - Sarah La Roche Mental fitness should be as natural as physical fitness, and our updated brand, app and school resources will support families, educators and communities to make this a reality. Let’s work together to set the next generation up to thrive. https://lnkd.in/gWikqTkW #MentalFitness #ChildMentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma

The latest Australian Human Rights Commission report takes a crucial step in championing child wellbeing. Smiling Mind particularly commends the call for prevention and early intervention, and supports the call for Governments to listen to the evidence and work together across health, education, social services and justice to improve child wellbeing and safety – and keep communities safe for everyone. The Commission spoke with 150 young people and children, their families and a range of stakeholders who said that prioritising child wellbeing and safety would help keep children away from the criminal justice system. A big thank you to Future Generation for everything you do to enable positive mental health outcomes, and for being such an essential part of creating generational change in mental health in Australia.
We are excited to launch Future Generation Global’s Impact Report 2023, which brings to life the human stories behind the young lives we are changing, as well as data on the progress our impact partners are making with our social investment. The report reveals that our 14 impact partners had a remarkable 5.3 million participants in their programs and services in 2023, as they work to promote wellbeing and prevent the onset of mental ill-health in young Australians. Hear from some of them about how Future Generation Global’s rare style of funding - multi-year and untied - has enabled them to grow both their organisations and their impact. Evidence shows there are a range of skills that underpin mental wellbeing. Just like we train different muscles to build physical fitness, we can practise a range of skills to enhance mental fitness—the foundation for thriving. Following extensive research and testing, Smiling Mind has created a new, evidence-based Mental Fitness Model which brings together five core skills to strengthen mental wellbeing.
