Today marks 17 years since the establishment of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). The UNDRIP establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for the survival, dignity and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples. It influences action and policy across Australia and New Zealand. With five UNDRIP articles involving health and two involving medicine, Medical Administrators have a responsibility to understand and implement these standards. #UNDRIP #indigenousrights #medicine #indigenous

Excited to have Dr Charles Phillis speaking at RACMA 2024, along with many other incredible speakers on the program!

Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators Conference 2024 - Brisbane - October 1st - 4th. To say I am excited and looking forward to this conference is an understatement! I cannot wait to network and socialise with colleagues and new faces. Join me at the Friday afternoon panel, where I am a Guest Speaker for the session on “New Frontiers - Workforce of the Future” for what will be a stimulating and thought provoking session, with, I would hope, an opportunity for open dialogue and challenging the norms. As a Chief Health Officer advocating for safety, quality, accountability, interoperability and clinician satisfaction in a digital health startup environment, whilst also Consulting as a Clinical Director to a national Occupational Health boutique operator, I have witnessed emerging trends in health care delivery and a changing of the guard, rife for disruption but ensuring we do not deviate away from traditional values that uphold clinical safety and ensuring our patients and key stakeholders receive high quality, value based care. I am a strong advocate for Clinicians and emerging Health Leaders, from all craft groups, but particularly my AFRACMA Colleagues - my door is always open and we have a forward thinking and innovative College representing us - now is that time to step up and advocate for change that improves the delivery of healthcare whilst preserving the oath we pledged to uphold. I’m looking forward to meeting any and all!
