#DYK that we have regional offices in Nambour and Imbil to support our Borumba Project? 🏢 Queensland Hydro's team has grown from 1 employee in September 2022 to around 150, and we expect many more jobs will be created during peak construction. We're all about creating local opportunities for our regions, with so much more to come! 👍 Our proposed #Borumba Pumped Hydro Project is a 2,000 megawatt (MW) pumped hydro energy storage system at Lake Borumba, located near Imbil, west of the Sunny Coast. ☀️ In June 2023, the Queensland Government committed $6 billion to progress the project pending approvals. Pending approvals, we're targeting first power in 2030. ⚡ You can get to know more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/gnCFeAJ9 💧#QldHydro

On Friday 16 August 2024 Queensland Hydro was advised by the Office of the Coordinator-General that the Terms of Reference (TOR) for our proposed #Borumba Pumped Hydro Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) had been finalised. 📝 The Terms of Reference is a project-specific document that outlines what needs to be assessed and evaluated as part of the regulatory approvals process. We will now undertake detailed studies to meet the TOR. 🔍 Like all major infrastructure projects, the Borumba Project will need to undergo rigorous regulatory assessment before main works can proceed, with an EIS being the most robust environmental impact assessment process in Queensland. 🍃 To learn more about the EIS and the next steps, head to our website here: https://lnkd.in/gpsP9Dib 💧 #QldHydro
