Did you know there is a retirement income gap for women? The gender pay gap, due to lower income while working, reduces employer superannuation contributions, which can result in lower average superannuation balances and a retirement income gap. The recently released gender pay equity dashboard notes that, as at June 2024, there was a 25.46% gap in superannuation balances for men and women who worked for the Queensland government. This represents a small improvement from 26.14% as at June 2023: https://lnkd.in/gKYvxgqW The OSC has led the introduction of new equity policies in 2024, including payment of superannuation on unpaid parental leave up to 52 weeks. Find out more about these changes here: https://lnkd.in/ezrp2gVh The Gender pay equity report 2024 has also been released for further information: https://lnkd.in/gpP95Sj5 #BeHere4Qld #BeTheDifference #GenderPayGap #Achievement #Improvement #Awareness #Equity #Diversity

The recently released Gender pay equity dashboard gives us great insight into the gender pay gap within the Queensland public sector and how it’s tracking across various age groups, target groups and agencies: https://lnkd.in/gKYvxgqW According to the data, there is no gender pay gap for younger cohorts in the sector up to 35 years of age, with the average salary of younger women being higher than the average salary of younger men. The earnings gap has improved for women in all age groups except for 60-64 year olds with 55-59 year olds remaining the same as 2023. This improvement is an achievement for the Queensland public sector with the Office of the Special Commissioner, Equity and Diversity led by Dr Linda Colley continuing to work with organisations across the sector to improve equity and diversity. A Gender pay equity report 2024 has also been released for further information: https://lnkd.in/gpP95Sj5 #BeHere4Qld #BeTheDifference #GenderPayGap #Achievement #Improvement #Awareness #Equity #Diversity
