It's fantastic to see preservice teachers like Bailey from QUT exploring Queensland’s vibrant rural, regional, and remote communities as part of their professional experience placements. It’s a valuable opportunity for preservice teachers to gain first-hand insight into what it's like to teach and live in these communities and explore the opportunities and support available to them as they consider where to start their teaching career. Our Beyond the Range and Regional Professional Experience Grants provide financial support to preservice teachers like Bailey so they can discover the incredible opportunities available in communities like St George. State school STEM teachers, seize this opportunity! Nominations for the 2025 STEM Girl Power Initiative are now open. Up to 10 teachers and 60 students will experience cutting edge STEM industries firsthand at the STEM Girl Power Camp in Brisbane, from 19 to 23 May 2025. Participants will learn from industry experts and like-minded peers from across the state. The program also includes online activities throughout the year. Interested teachers are encouraged to seek their principal’s support to nominate themselves and a current Year 9 student to participate in this fantastic program. Over two impactful days, teachers, school leaders, administrative staff, and technicians from across the state – from Tagai State College in the far north to Stanthorpe State High School in the south and Longreach School of Distance Education in the west – gathered to explore the future of technology in education. i-Educate provided a platform for diving deep into the integration of AI technology, aimed at elevating student engagement and advancing learning outcomes.
