ICYMI: We’re pleased to share that QinetiQ has secured a £20 million contract to build one of Europe’s largest anti-jamming test facilities for the UK Ministry of Defence. The facility will test the resilience of defence platforms including F-35s and Chinook helicopters against satellite navigation jamming threats, as well as support the development of electronic warfare capabilities. The knowledge and insights gained through testing at the facility has the potential to enhance the resilience and capabilities of the UK’s defence platforms, some of which are also relied upon by the Australian Defence Force (ADF). QinetiQ Australia Sector Chief Strategy Officer Rebecca Humble has presented a keynote at the ADM South Australian Defence Summit, “Building Australia's Future Defence Industry Through Strategic Vision, Collaboration, and Innovation”. Here are the top three key takeaways: 1. South Australia's Leadership: The state hosts more than 300 defence companies employing over 15,000 people, a number that continues to grow annually. 2. Strategic Response: Australia has laid out comprehensive defence strategies, but industry must adopt a more proactive and strategic approach to thrive in this dynamic environment. 3. Collaboration is Key: Success requires a unified effort from governments, the ADF, academia, and industry. This includes balancing competition and collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.
