Head of People & Culture | HR for Scaling Businesses

🌟 Let's Talk Building Culture in Small to Medium Businesses and Startups 🌟 Wondering when to build and prioritise your company culture? Culture becomes important when a group of individuals align toward a shared mission or purpose. It forms a common language that unites them, encourages accountability, and facilitates collaboration towards company goals. Navigating the complexities of a growing business—competing priorities, evolving landscapes, bringing the right people onboard, enablement through the right tools—underscores the importance of building and prioritising culture. I've created an easy to use 6-step approach for founders and small business owners. With practical tools and resources, this framework enhances the overall employee experience and embeds culture within the business. 🤔 Is 360 feedback really delivering results for your team? Ever wondered why one person rating another might not be the best measure of performance? This video (https://lnkd.in/ghwvj5Ef) by Marcus Buckingham sheds light on this, revealing the "idiosyncratic rater effect." Essentially, when you rate someone, it says more about you than them (accounting for 61-62% of the variation). To summarise the video, ratings are relative to how people feel about themselves, which means it generates bad data. If we take a moment to reflect: are we sticking with 360 feedback simply out of habit, or because it genuinely plays a significant role in encouraging a culture of performance? It's time to consider a more innovative, people-centred approach that nurtures feedback flow across all levels of the organisation. How can we create an approach that not only gives valuable insights but also leaves people feeling empowered and motivated and positively impacts the direction of the business? If you are interested in exploring why a culture of feedback is important to your business and how it could be approached in a different way, (or anything People & Culture/HR Related) then we would love to chat - reach out to [email protected].
