This year, we began implementing our permission-aware AI platform for employees, or our 'Generative AI Assistant' – an exciting innovation that empowers our employees and drives productivity improvements with on-demand data retrieval that is secure, accurate, and permissions-aware. The GenAI Assistant was developed in collaboration with Thoughtworks Australia, Redactive and Amazon Web Services (AWS), and pioneers a security-first approach that is uniquely designed to understand each employee's access to enterprise data in real time. It ensures robust data security at both the model and data levels, while retrieving live information from within the organisation. PEXA’s Group Chief Technology Officer, Eglantine Etiemble said: “In an increasingly digital ecosystem, it is crucial to keep people at the forefront of innovation. Our approach ensures that while we integrate cutting-edge technology, we are also fostering a culture where our employees can thrive, engage with new tools confidently, and contribute meaningfully to our mission of Connecting People to Place.” You can read more about the project via Forbes: https://lnkd.in/gwThNgDX #artificialintelligence #ai #innovation #techinnovation Fred H.

PEXA community partner Victoria University’s Annual Community Tree Planting Day is a highly anticipated occasion in the PEXA calendar, and this year was no exception! Powered by their #volunteering leave, 13 PEXA staff donned their gloves and sun hats to spend the day helping to bring more greenery to VU’s Werribee campus. “I'm happy to say that we were successful in achieving our goal of planting over 2,500 trees (including 17 different species of trees) – helping towards the program’s total goal of planting 500,000 trees to increase tree canopy coverage in Melbourne's western suburbs,” said Timothy Sunderland, CRM and Analytics Coordinator at PEXA. “The day really taught me just how fun and rewarding volunteering days like this can be, plus it was great to connect with colleagues I typically don’t work with! I'll be back next year for sure,” added Tim. After three consecutive years of planting, Werribee is now home to an extra 12,500 trees. Not only do these trees help to build canopy coverage and understory growth, but they help improve biodiversity and reduce air pollution and urban temperatures in Melbourne’s west. #esg #sustainability #vu Amanda Visser FIEMA CEnv Ahlam Haddad Cheyanna O'Connor Adrian Papa Crystal Smith Donna Rogers Melissa Forsyth Toya Farrell Ameena Afreen Nino M. This week, PEXA was proud to sponsor the Housing All Australians national breakfast tour. The breakfast events saw 900 industry colleagues in attendance across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. We were also lucky to host a Lunch and Learn session in the PEXA Melbourne offices for employees online and in-person. Keynote speaker Gregg Colburn, Associate Professor at the University of Washington shared key findings from his research on North America’s housing crisis, which challenged us to reshape what we think we know about the causes of homelessness. According to his research: 🏠 Homelessness thrives amid affluence, not poverty 🏠 Where rental prices are high and vacancies are low, homelessness tends to be high 🏠 “Precipitating events” such as job loss, divorce, addiction or illness are not causes of homelessness, rather they make people more vulnerable to experiencing homelessness where housing is unaffordable or in low supply. The bottom line? ➡️ Homelessness is a housing problem. We’re proud to support the work of Housing All Australians, as they mobilise the corporate sector to contribute to a solution to a problem “too big for governments alone to solve.” Since 2022, we’ve been collaborating on an Australian-first digital PRADS Affordable Housing Register (AHR) designed to help tackle the nation’s housing crisis by unlocking private capital to fund affordable housing projects, nationwide. #housingaffordability #housingcrisis #rentalcrisis Glenn King Robert Pradolin GAICD Amanda Visser FIEMA CEnv Melissa Forsyth Hany Messieh

PEXA’s ‘Hack Day’ is an exciting annual event where employees team up to pitch their best and brightest ideas to a Shark Tank-style panel of judges, hoping to gain sponsorship and bring their idea to life. One of last year’s winners was a proposal to redesign our induction experience make it more engaging than ever before, presented by People Experience team members Chanh Kien (She/Her), Anna Smith and Sean Goodman. In July, after 9 months of hard work supported by our partnership with Victoria University, the team successfully delivered their project at an exciting premiere event which saw our Melbourne office transformed into a cinema complete with choc-tops. Read more about how their innovative idea became reality, and watch the induction experience trailer here: https://lnkd.in/gUA4JBKn Well done to Chanh, Anna, Sean, videographer Trent Cliffe, our Vic Uni student editor, and the more than 190 global employees who contributed to this project! 🎉 We can’t wait to see what comes out of this year’s Hack Day, coming in October! #techinnovation #sharktank #employeeengagement Sabina Sopov Ahlam Haddad Glenn King

"Based on our research, the recent rapid escalation in housing costs in Australia has created the conditions—absent any major changes—for homelessness to increase significantly,” said Gregg Colburn, Associate Professor, University of Washington. In partnership with Housing All Australians, PEXA is sponsoring their first national breakfast tour to mobilise the industry on Australia’s housing affordability and availability issues. Join us in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane for this important event. We look forward to hearing from Gregg Colburn on his research that tests conventional beliefs about the causes of homelessness and proposes a path forward, and our General Manager of Practitioners Rukshana Sashankan appearing on the panel talks in Brisbane.
