“I don’t post enough. I could post. I know I should post. What could I possibly add to the conversation. Who could possibly want to listen to me?” Sound familiar? Sometimes it can feel like LinkedIn is a glorified hall of fame for successful people to share their well… successes 🏆 Everyone's winning awards, climbing the corporate ladder, or launching something groundbreaking. And there you are, hesitating to share your own updates because they don’t seem 'big enough.' We get it. Ex-LinkedIn Global Business Development & International Growth Partnerships Elinor Honigstein challenges this notion. That maybe, just maybe it’s less about our success stories and more about our success mindset 🤔 Tune into our latest episode, ⬇️linked in comments ⬇️, to break the cycle of silence and make LinkedIn work for you! #LinkedInUnlocked #CareerGrowth #SocialMediaStrategies #empoweredwomen #careerpodcast Elli Schroeder Tamara Smith

Your LinkedIn Glowup: Tips & Tricks from a Linkedin Insider 🚨Episode 4 of our Personal Branding mini series is HERE🚨 We've spoken A LOT about LinkedIn in the past few episodes so we thought it was only fitting to dedicate an episode to exploring LinkedIn the company. From profile face lifts to Linkedin platform evolution and company mission, we'll be covering all the Linkedin basis, from what you know you should do (cough, cough update that graduate profile picture) to what you didn't even know you should know (ever heard of collaborative articles?) Joining us for this conversation is @elinorhonigstein/... think a sneak peek under the hood with a Linkedin mechanic! Elinor has spent the past decade building communities and strategic partnerships around the mission, products and services of organisations in the private, public and social sectors. At LinkedIn Elinor worked in the BD team that led global partnerships to grow member value. Prior to LinkedIn, Elinor was working at the British Government, building tech partnerships between global startups and British companies. Passionate about the intersection of technology and gender diversity she trained as a facilitator for Google's #IamRemarkable initiative, joined the UN Delegation of UK Women and is on the Board of Social Impact and Women @ LinkedIn ERGs. Here's what this Episode will answer ⬇️ 🎯 How to give your LinkedIn profile the facelift it needs? What matters and what doesn't? 🎯 How to build your LinkedIn presence and how to work WITH the algorithm?  🎯 What are the most underutilised features on the platform? 🎯 Beyond job searching, how can you get the most out of the platform? 🎯 What was Linkedin created to do, how has it evolved and where do we see it going?  We can't wait to hear your biggest takeaway from our conversation with Elinor. Stay tuned to hear ours over the coming days 😜

The unexpected ways to make your brand uniform and cohesive.  We've spoken a lot about the degree of consistency (being, frequency of engagement, types of content, 'what' you're portraying) required for a personal brand. It makes sense right, the brands you know and love are consistent in their messaging, in their visuals... they have uniform and cohesive look and feel that you've come to expect.  This raises an issue. What if I want to post about many things... am I giving my audience whiplash? What if I change my content pillars in 2 years, will I be portraying a 'confused' brand? The answer = MAKE YOURSELF (not your content) THE NICHE  ⬇️ ⬇️ Check out Rosie Chong  FULL explanation in this week's episode  ⬇️ ⬇️

Engagement Metrics - Are they Vain or Valuable?  Where just going to say what's on everyone's mind... What if we post and get 2 likes?? It's not something we are proud to admit, but this thought that has stopped us from engaging with the platform on many occasions.  So it begs the question, how important are these metrics? Do they matter? Do they constitute a success metric for our personal brand? Listen to the full episode to hear Rosie Chong, a LinkedIn Influencer and social strategist, give us her take on the subject.

We say "Personal Branding", you say "LinkedIn" 📣 It can often feel like personal branding was a phrase coined by LinkedIn and directly relates to your engagement on the platform. We are here to debunk that myth ⛔ Not only is your personal brand NOT exclusively tied to clicking 'POST' on LinkedIn, but that may not be your preferred way to build your brand. The good news is there are plenty of ways to go about building your brand if you'd prefer a less intimidating starting point, OR you just have no desire to be that visible on the platform.  Let us know which of the following ways you'll be adopting & if you have other tips & tricks of your own.

Curiosity is widely known as a key ingredient for success and for its ability to propel your career. I love that I'm a curious person. I could think of nothing greater than spending the rest of my life chatting with people about the things that make them tick, their biggest successes and greatest challenges. BUT (and it's a big but), at times I have found myself burdened by all the information I've absorbed. Through podcasts, mentors, books, newspapers, family, friends & colleagues I'm all too aware of the best practice principles for my career, my health, my relationships and my (insert any area of life). What I've come to realise is there is arguably too much advice around. If you're not careful it's inevitable you’ll arrive at a state of overwhelm and feel like you’re drowning in a sea of good advice with no time or mental capacity to action it. Here is what I've learnt about managing curiosity:  1. Consume, reflect & prioritise  2. Know when to stop consuming. Take breaks! I recently had a conversation with Rosie Chong all about her journey to becoming a LinkedIn influencer and personal branding strategist. Do we talk 'best practice'? Yes!! Did she give me new things to mull over and consider implementing? Yes!! But, my favourite part of the conversation was where we discussed how to prioritise advice based on your personal and professional goals and how to juggle all these 'good pieces of advice' alongside your 9 to 5. My conversation with Rosie Chong drops Tuesday 16th. Check out the comments for more information.

This was the perfect reminder from Vinnie Romano! So often we can delay 'starting' because we are waiting for confidence to "kick-in". We think it's time to shift the narrative... let's step out with courage and allow confidence to follow. ALSO, let's not fall into the trap of thinking courage looks a certain way. In our experience, courage doesn't always feel that courageous in the moment. It may feel more like fear, uncertainty or doubt - and that's OK (and normal).

PSA - Here's what I wish I knew before starting as a grad in a Big 4. Courage precedes confidence 🤯 Confidence is built through action. No one STARTS with confidence, rather, repetition and failure produce learnings which ultimately increase your confidence. Instead, COURAGE is what I now aspire to have. I aspire to have the courage to step into arenas that feel out of my depth and to say yes to opportunities that will warrant much failure. Because through those moments of boldness, confidence will but cultivated. I credit Vinnie Romano for this timely reminder - If you want to catch the conversation I had with Vinnie head over to Out the Gate check out the link in the comments.

What do you and your favourite skincare brand have in common? A lot actually!! When we think of a 'brand' we often think of a logo, right?! While that's a rational conclusion, a logo, colour palette or font is NOT the totality of a brand.  A brands aim is to build trust. When companies build trust with consumers, we (the consumer) buy products. Ps. This was new information for us as neither of us come from a marketing or sales background).  Personal Branding is no different! Listen to Ep 2 with Vinnie Romano  to hear how the endgame of personal branding is building trust & how you can practically do that.
