His pioneering work on porous silicon-based nanostructures and surface chemistry is at the forefront of scientific innovation. With over 530 peer-reviewed journal articles, more than 25,000 citations, and an h-index of 76, Nico's contributions to the field are immense. He has been recognized globally, receiving prestigious fellowships from the German Research Foundation (DFG), the CSIRO, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Nico’s accolades include the Tall Poppy Science Award and being a finalist for the South Australian Scientist of the Year 2015, a Humboldt Prize and an ARC Laureate Fellowship. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. Currently serving as the Scientific Director of the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication, Professor at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University, Nico’s expertise and leadership will be key to ensuring that we remain at the forefront of innovation, enabling us to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.
