  • Today marks the start of National Rural Health Month, a month which highlights the inequities that rural, regional and remote Australians face when trying to access the same health care as their urban counterparts. Just like Bruce, may people in farming communities face mental health challenges. Connecting these people to the local support they need is crucial for fostering resilience and wellbeing. 🌾 Bruce's story is a reminder that mental health knows no boundaries, affecting individuals in every corner of our nation. During National Rural Health Month, let's shed light on the unique challenges faced by those in rural, regional, and remote areas and work towards bridging the healthcare gap. If you're affected by mental health challenges, connect to help, your way: in person, by phone, or online. For resources and support, visit https://lnkd.in/esB5ycV7 In a crisis, call Accessline on 1800 800 944. In an emergency, call 000. • Strengthening Aged Care Services in Hay Shire 📢 Last Monday, Georgina, Lynda, and Jane G joined a roundtable event in Hay to address the unique challenges of delivering aged care services across the shire. The day was not only about discussing these important issues but also about building connections with other dedicated stakeholders who share the goal of enhancing aged care quality and sustainability in our community. 🤝 The roundtable, an initiative by the Department of Health and Aged Care Local Network, brought together key figures, including Carol Oataway, Chair of Hay LHAC and Hay Shire Mayor, as well as David Webb, General Manager of Hay Shire Council, and Charissa Hayward and Vanessa Pentland from the Department of Health and Aged Care. Together, we’re working towards practical solutions for a stronger, more supportive aged care system. 🌟
