Well done to Dr Jim Connolly, Dr Robert Leach, Dr Roberto Petrina, and Professor Christoph Dodt, EUSEM Presidents and Vice-Presidents for showing such strong leadership in climate and sustainability advocacy at this influential conference. And thanks to the amazing team of speakers and moderators including virtual talks by Professor Hugh M. , Dr Sandy Robertson, and in person presentations by Dr Nathan Hudson-Peacock, Past-President Dr Luis Garcia-Castrillo, Dr Matteo Paganini, AFEM COO Dr Lauren Lai King, Director of Medical Services of the National Centre of Emergency Care Dr Demetrios Pyrros and recent IFEM President Ffion Davies We have an exhibition booth at the conference and look forward to a fantastic few days building solid foundations for health and climate advocacy and sustainable solutions across European emergency departments. The WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr Hans Kluge gave an inspirational keynote speech today also and described the need for healthcare systems to take on the severe risks that climate change is delivering... The SustainableTrain is scaling up across Europe, the UK and Australasia... where next?!

  • On Friday night, the Port Macquarie community gathered for a moving Reclaim the Night event, uniting more than 200 people to take a stand against domestic and family violence. Under a stunning sunset over the river and mountains, we marched in solidarity, advocating for everyone’s right to feel safe, day or night. Powerful speeches by Aunty Rhonda Anjilkurri Radley, Brooke Maggs (Liberty Domestic & Family Violence Specialist Services), MNCLHD Acting Chief Executive Jill Wong, Deb Tougher (YP SPACE MNC) and MNC LAC Crime Prevention Officer Tim Preston highlighted the urgent need to address violence in our community, and we were proud to raise funds for YP Space, an organisation supporting youth homelessness. A heartfelt thank you to all who organised this fantastic event and those who joined this important cause. Together, we’re creating change. 💜
