MARILYN was privileged to be invited to the recent WILD retreat in country Victoria. Her session was on ‘Opening the doors to a NED career’, where she talked about the practicalities of where to find board roles. Also discussed was why you do a CV a certain way, 4 different Chairs provided their thoughts on Board CVs and the structure that they like to see.   Main takeaways: Everyone has a different opinion! Executive expertise validates Financials and reading a P&L are essential AI / digital literacy, and particularly ESG, has become more important to Boards in the last 12 months.  A targeted CV contains only the relevant achievements, qualifications and personality traits that are required to be successful in the advertised role, be it at any level. Your initial profile should be engaging and encompass your relevant expertise for the position.
