We all want a job that matters, one with a heartbeat. At Meridian, I got one with a soul. But now, after over a decade as CEO, I’m saying goodbye. It’s time to step back and allow this incredible organisation to continue to grow, uplift, support, and empower. There’s nothing quite like working with people who fiercely share your passions. I am strategic and resourceful, but it’s the act of giving a voice to the often unheard and marginalised that pushes me to do and be better. When I began, Meridian had only a handful of staff, today, we have over 30 beautiful humans and I am extending a huge thank you to each and every one of you. Without your dedication, we could not have achieved what we did to improve the health of those impacted by HIV, LGBTIQA+ people, and sex workers. Without you all we could not have rebranded the organisation or adapted to the changing nature of work and the communities we serve. Without your support, I could not have collaborated with our LGBTIQA+ communities to co-design and develop a bespoke mental health and well-being service. We could not have delivered an essential ageing and disability service across Canberra and South East NSW as well as a and sector-leading monitoring and evaluation system that, seven years on, continues to demonstrate a real, positive impact. What we did together, what we made happen, the grants we won and the capability we built, the partnerships we formed, the difference we made—it will stay with me forever. I’d also like to say a very special thank you to the HIV-positive elders for the lessons they taught me about life, love, and the impact of stigma and discrimination. Your perspective has made me a more compassionate and driven leader and person. I know I’m a hard worker. I have stamina and intensity. I connect the dots and forge a path forward, no matter the challenge. When the cause is so great, it is my absolute pleasure to give it my all. And as I transition to new opportunities, I cannot wait to feel that excitement, that energy all over again. My last day is 2nd July. If we've crossed paths before, let's keep in touch. 📩 [email protected]
