Our first-ever Car Park Sleepout, held on the rooftop of Terminal 4, saw an inspiring show of support from our community. Participants spent the night in their cars to raise much-needed awareness and funds for Juno and McAuley two organisations providing crucial support to women facing homelessness due to domestic violence. We’re excited to share that together we raised an incredible $40,000! A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this wonderful initiative. We will be looking to host this incredible event next year. In the meantime, if you’d like to support either charity, you can make a donation here: Juno: https://lnkd.in/gXP-_enQ McAuley: https://lnkd.in/eynmM6yd #melbourneairport #carparksleepout #fundraising #juno #mcauley
About us
Since 1970 Melbourne Airport has been Victoria’s gateway to the world, operating curfew-free, 24 hours per day, seven days a week. We are one of Australia’s premier transport hubs situated on an estate of 2,400 hectares. The greater Melbourne Airport precinct offers significant aeronautical infrastructure, a large business park and extensive road networks. The airport is located 22 kilometres northwest of Melbourne’s central business district and is well connected to the city’s freeway and arterial road network. Plans are progressing for a rail link connecting the airport to the suburban rail network via Sunshine. The airport is close to major industrial areas and serves as a hub for freight and logistics, while providing employment to thousands of residents in nearby suburban growth corridors. Melbourne is growing and Melbourne Airport is too. We expect to welcome more than 60 million travellers per year by 2033, and more than 14,000 people currently work at the airport, in industries as diverse as aviation, hospitality, freight and logistics, transport and retail. As we welcome more employees, travellers, and business partners to the airport, it’s important to be clear on our vision, purpose, and values. At Melbourne Airport, our vision is to be Australia’s favourite airport destination and we achieve this through our purpose which is to create connections that matter every day. Our values are: Be you. We celebrate diversity and earn the trust of our team and stakeholders by acting with integrity. Think big. We are visionary, with the courage to innovate and achieve our goals. Own it. We are results driven, make savvy decisions and take responsibility for our actions. Work together. We work together and communicate openly to achieve shared goals. If you are interested in working for Melbourne Airport please visit our Career Centre via our website.

We loved hosting the Guide Dogs Victoria in Terminal 4 today and giving out free coffee thanks to Quickshots cafe. As well as raising awareness for Guide Dogs today, we have recently launched Mobility Hubs at every terminal. Travellers with low vision or other accessible needs can get assistance in finding their way through our airport. #MelbourneAirport #PupUpCafe #GuideDogsAustralia #MobilityHubs

Exciting news! Melbourne Airport has unveiled plans for Elite Park, a vibrant 32-hectare entertainment, leisure, and retail precinct. Subject to Federal Government approval, the project will unfold in three stages, with works to commence in 2025. The first new tenants are expected to be welcomed by the end of 2026. Chief of Ground Transport, Property and Retail Jai McDermott said Elite Park is designed to be a destination for work and leisure and an exciting place for the local community. “Melbourne Airport is more than just an airport. We are building community spaces that create jobs and places where people can spend time with friends and family,” he said. Melbourne Airport is preparing to welcome more than 1.7 million passengers in the coming two weeks, as both the school holidays and AFL Grand Final kick off. Speaking to 7NEWS Australia, Chief of Ground Transport, Property & Retail Jai McDermott said the airport was attempting to minimise disruption but warned some traffic congestion was likely during peak times. These delays are due to construction on our terminal road network to deliver a quicker journey to the terminals and new dedicated passenger pick-up and drop-off zones. For those travelling to or from the airport during this period, we recommend allowing an additional 30 minutes for your journey. If you’re picking up or dropping off passengers, we encourage you to use the Terminal 4 Car Park via Naarm Way to avoid congestion in the Terminal 123 forecourt. We apologise for the inconvenience, but with growing passenger numbers it’s essential we upgrade our road network to reduce future delays. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆? The addition of a third runway is expected to support an additional 51,000 jobs in Victoria and contribute an extra $4.6 billion annually to the gross state product by 2046, driving job creation and economic growth. Increased capacity will be another major benefit, as the third runway will accommodate an additional 23 million passengers and 136,500 flight movements annually by 2046, representing a 40% increase in passengers and a 43% increase in aircraft movements. The third runway will enhance resilience at Melbourne Airport, improving network reliability in all weather conditions. We anticipate that the third runway will open in 2031. We are proud to announce the signing of new five-year partnership agreements with Western Chances and Banksia Gardens Community Services. Our collaboration with Western Chances will provide funding over the next five years, continuing our long-standing 15 year partnership. This funding will support scholarships and programs for young people in Melbourne's west. Similarly, our new partnership with Banksia Gardens Community Services will provide funding and support over five years. This support will help fund scholarships, after-school programs, and Project REAL, a vital initiative helping disengaged students re-enter education. Both partnerships reflect Melbourne Airport’s commitment to supporting local communities and empowering young people. We're excited to continue working closely with these organisations to help students reach their full potential and build a brighter future. Together, we’re creating more opportunities and connected communities, and we look forward to seeing the incredible impact this support will have in the years ahead. #melbourneairport #communitypartnerships #education #supportingyouth #empoweringstudents #buildingfutures
