LinkedIn Spin: how can we apply our travel experience to recruitment? Well, there are many steakhouses in Florence, all selling similar meals, yet some restaurants have a 3.0 rating up to 4.9. How do you pick one? We chose a 4.8 based on both online rating and curb appeal once there and were very pleased. What makes this place standout? The people in the business. Vito the legend! The ingredients they use in the products they serve. The presentation. The personalised recommendations. The homemade tiramisu AND homemade Melon-Cello. The uncompromising Rare only method of cooking over flame served on hot rock. The eating process - a forced 5 minute wait after finishing steak before even allowing a dessert order. How dare we try to order dessert before we finish our steak & vino!! Memorable! Not everyday does the owner visit the table and do a shot with you when “the boss” isn’t looking. Was this restaurant extreme and giving Seinfeld soup vibes, sure. Did we play by their rules - you bet! Will we return, refer others, absolutely! I see many parallels to recruitment. There are a lot of us out there, but the way we go about it, the people we choose to represent, the way we screen and pitch them, the way we improve a CV, advise on interview strategy, the pitches to demonstrate the fit for all, the hands on approach personalised 1 to 1, the expertise of nearly 20 years of high performance, the process we use, all vary but add up to the end outcome.
