This year we had the pleasure of including LUNA’s Startup Board Course in the SVG Ventures | THRIVE APAC II Accelerator which supports scaling agrifood tech startups that are driving us towards a more efficient, sustainable, and secure agriculture future. Having received feedback from the 2024 cohort that governance and working with directors and investors was a topic that founders were interested to develop, Hugo Bieber, THRIVE’s Head of APAC Startup Programs, got in touch with Ashleigh Camm, our Startup Board Course Director, to see if we could integrate the Startup Board Course into THRIVE’s existing Accelerator Program. At LUNA, one of our reasons for being is to support the growth, longevity and success of our ecosystem, and we are committed to this through our services and educational initiatives. One of those educational initiatives is our amazing partnership with the Entrepreneurship Portfolio @ Monash University which allows us the absolute privilege of being able to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and investors, particularly via the two units that we teach: "Venture Capital and the Startup Ecosystem" and "Startup fundamentals: From setting up to securing investment". Through the innovation and support of David Gilbert and the Entrepreneurship Portfolio team, we've been able to reimagine the way we teach our units, which is quite the step change from when a lot of us attended university! A big driver of this is aligning learning to the needs of the ecosystem, and bringing in expert industry guests to bring the theory to life and to help students make real-world connections. This has supported some incredible pathways into VC and the ecosystem for some, as well as positively impacting students' journeys in this formative time of life.
