📢 Have your say: Shape Tasmania’s 20-Year Preventive Health Strategy. The State Government has released a Discussion Paper inviting all Tasmanians to contribute to the development of a new 20-Year Preventive Health Strategy. Over 70% of health outcomes are influenced by factors beyond healthcare alone. These factors include the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age. To transform Tasmania’s health outcomes, we need to address the root causes of health issues and look at the systems that affect our health. This includes not just our health system, but areas like employment, education, transport, poverty, early childhood experiences, housing, planning, food security, and social inclusion. The State Government is seeking input from government agencies, health and community sector organisations, subject matter experts and members of the Tasmanian community. Read the Discussion Paper and choose from one of the options outlined here: https://lnkd.in/gg5ZMHDw

Our Procurement Team has enjoyed travelling around Tasmania this month to deliver training to council staff involved with civil works contracting and management. Around 50 staff from 21 different councils learned about standard form contracts, specific contracts involving the GC21 suite and the key features of GC212 contracts. This training will enable council staff to engage with LGAT's Procurement Civil Works Panel which recently went live. Our President, Mayor Mick Tucker, congratulated Kerry on his new role. “We are pleased to have Kerry as Minister, he was one of our sector’s most experienced and respected Mayors before moving to State Parliament earlier this year,” Mayor Tucker said.
