Recently, we said goodbye to Michael Weaver and wished him well in his retirement. Joining us back in 1995, Michael was engaged by Interflow as a consultant to assist the business in gaining a quality accreditation. One year later, Michael officially became an Interflow team member when former Managing Director, Geoff Weaver, offered him the position of Contract Administrator. Since then, Michael has worked in various senior leadership roles all over the business and has always remained passionate about our values and what we do for our local communities. Michael will remain an Interflow Board Member going forward. We’d like to thank Michael for everything he’s done for Interflow over the years and wish him and his family the best with his retirement.

Last week we participated in WaterAid Australia's annual Walk for Water. Around the world, millions of people don't have clean water close to home. The money raised through Walk for Water will support WaterAid's mission to provide clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to communities in need. We walk so others don't have to. This year marked 20 years of our support for WaterAid Australia, highlighting our continual commitment to improving the lives of the communities we serve. Throughout the week, we hosted some competitions which inspired our people to walk for a good cause while competing against their others around the company. In the end, it was our Southern region (VIC, SA, WA) who took out our Walk for Water Cup only narrowly beating the other regions. Below are some photos from throughout the week from our people! If you’d like to donate to WaterAid, it’s not too late. Click the link below to be taken to our official donation page. https://lnkd.in/gV5yyc5g #WalkforWater

We are excited to share that we were finalists at Thursday night’s AWA QLD Gala Dinner & Awards for the Chambers Flat Road Trunk Water Main Primus Line Installation. We are proud to be associated with Logan Water's innovative project that used Primus Line® to repurpose an existing decommissioned asset. The project provided the opportunity to pursue an innovative, and cost-effective solution that benefits the Logan community for generations to come. Thank you to the collaborative efforts of Logan Water, Downer, WSP, Stantec and Bligh Tanner for coming together to deliver a fantastic project. We look forward to working with you all on many more award-winning ventures.

Back in May, our team was presented with the complex job of relining five wastewater pipes in some challenging locations in Zillmere for our customers Downer and Urban Utilities. Gaining access to the maintenance holes was the team's biggest challenge as they were located in difficult to reach locations. Adding to the challenge was how far the maintenance holes were from the nearest road which required remote setups for each installation. Running the profile from the truck, the team pulled Expanda and the air connection over 100m across waterways into bushland to complete the job. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project for working together to secure the community’s wastewater services.

Through our partnership with WaterAid Australia, we secured a unique opportunity to attend a ‘Women in Leadership’ lunch with Victorian water leaders. Representing Interflow, we had Chief Financial Officer, Tracy Black, Business Partner Finance, Lauren Borg, Community Relations Manager, Joanna Rodd, Project Coordinator, Monica Milowski, People & Capability Business Partner, Fern Ryan, and Project Manager, Alana Menere. Joining our team was Chair of the Yarra Valley Water Board, Gabrielle Bell, Managing Director of WesternPort Water, Dona Tantirimudalige, and Board Member for WaterAid Australia, Chiedza Malunga. Over lunch, they discussed the shared experiences within our industry and leadership positions, and how more women can hold key positions within workplaces. We’d like to thank Gabrielle, Dona and Chiedza for sharing their knowledge with our team. We look forward to engaging with more like-minded leaders as we Create the Future of Water together. #WomenInLeadership #CreateTheFutureOfWater

In 2023, our team worked with Fulton Hogan to complete a water main renewal on one of Melbourne’s busiest roads, Royal Parade. The project involved upgrading an existing DN750 water main by slip lining with a DN560 high density polyethylene pipe. The renewed water main now provides Greater Western Water with a reliable water asset for generations to come. This week we came together to recognise R U OK? Day. From BBQs to toolbox talks, everyone had the opportunity to come together and ask each other the simple question: R U OK? This year’s theme was ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day’, highlighting the importance of having conversations with friends, family and peers all year round. At Interflow, we want to create an environment where we support each other, and where we all feel safe and comfortable talking about our mental health. R U OK? Day is a reminder for people to speak up about their struggles, but it’s important that we check in with people throughout the year and not just today. Together, we can make a serious change when it comes to mental health. Support numbers: Access EAP - 1800 818 728 Lifeline - 13 11 14 #ruokanyday

As a foundation sponsor, we are once again proud to support the annual South Australian WaterAid Gala Ball. This is our 20th year supporting WaterAid Australia, which was started by the local water sector back in 2004. We are committed to continuing to raise vital funds for WaterAid and the communities it supports by contributing to these amazing WaterAid events. Our ongoing support of WaterAid Australia strongly aligns with our purpose, which is to improve the lives of the people we work with, the communities we serve, and the environment we operate in, for generations to come. It was fantastic to see our team dressed up and connecting with people around the industry. We look forward to doing it all again at the NSW WaterAid Ball next month. #WaterAidAustralia
