What an incredible month it has been for Liptember! After 30 days of bold lippy, our month dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Liptember Foundation to support women’s mental health has come to an end. Our team wrapped up by hosting a lunch fundraiser, featuring trivia, singing competitions, and heart-warming generosity. This month, the Interchange Bench team and I are supporting Liptember, an amazing month of fundraising in aid of women’s mental health. As we are all spending the day checking in on others and asking if our colleagues “R OK,” I thought I would share my colleague Mina’s post from earlier this month. Not only did she talk about Liptember and why we are supporting them, but she also opened up about her personal experiences. I encourage you to be brave like Mina and share your experiences with others to continue further normalising talking about mental health, especially in the workplace. With our continued efforts, hopefully in years to come, we won’t just be waiting for that one day in September to ask our colleagues and friends, ' Are you OK?’ It will just be a natural part of our everyday conversation. Lastly, I know times are tough for everyone, but if you have a dollar or two to spare, please consider donating to the Liptember campaign below. https://lnkd.in/gc_sWEp8 Every little bit helps and can make a difference. #Liptember #RUOKDAY #workplacementalhealth #womensmentalhealth

This September we are celebrating Liptember – a lighthearted and fun way to raise awareness and vital funds for women’s mental health. During Liptember (September) we’ll be bold and wear bright coloured lipstick. Why? Lips are powerful, and when paired with bright, colourful lipstick, make a statement that can help spark a conversation. Liptember Foundation reports,"71% of women strongly agreed that there is only a surface-level acceptance of mental health issues and a lot of stigma still exists around speaking up/asking for help." To join us, find out more about how you can get involved and support our Liptember campaign from Mina Ibrahimi: https://lnkd.in/geuAMUkU #liptember #mentalhealth #womenshealth #womensmentalhealth #InterchangeBench

August 26th is fast approaching. Whilst some of you may think, hey, that’s Cherry Popsicle Day, or that on this day in 1895, the first electric power was generated at Niagara Falls, that’s not why I am focused on Augst 26th. Several workplace laws will come into effect as part of the latest Closing Loopholes amendment (see below): The right to disconnect will commence for non-small business employers New definitions of 'employee', 'employer' and 'casual employee' will also come into effect Casual employees will be able to change to permanent employment under a new 'employee choice' process Is this making your head spin? Yep, mine too, but I am here to tell you that the Interchange Bench have been preparing for this, and we are ready for these changes! How does that help you? When working with the Interchange Bench for your Temporary and Contract staff needs, we are the candidate’s employer and will manage these changes and the risk for you. So, if you are looking for temporary talent, reach out and let me navigate this ever-changing space for you. I’m free for coffee catch-ups, phone calls, Teams/Zoom calls, and even a walk and talk around the Tan.

With multiple generations in the workforce and greater talent mobility than we’ve seen in previous years, a positive candidate experience can make all the difference in attracting and retaining the best people. Gregory Maselos highlights the importance of candidate care, and why a tailored approach is necessary to meet the unique needs of each generation. https://lnkd.in/gcGnmyNG #CandidateCare #GenerationsAtWork #CommunicationStyles #futureofwork #SladeReport #InterchangeBench

Hosting a Biggest Morning Tea with a Great Slade Bake Off has been a tradition for our Group over the years. It's a cause close to our hearts for many of us who have been directly affected by cancer or experienced it through a colleague, friend, family or loved one. This year we exceeded our goal to raise over $1000 for the Cancer Council Australia, which helps support research, prevention programs and people living with cancer. If you would like donate, go to our fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/gMnYP5jb #biggestmorningtea #bakeoff #fundraising #cancer #cancercouncil

It was a big day out for our teams at the RCSA Australia and New Zealand #TalentX recruitment and staffing expo in Melbourne yesterday. We heard from thought leaders about market changes, the currency of talent and the future of work. The event was a great opportunity to network with industry partners, colleagues and other professionals. Looking forward to exciting times ahead in the world of work! #futureofwork #worldatwork #recruitment #recruitmentindustry #RCSATalentX

This week we had a morning tea where we delved into the WGEA Gender Equitable Recruitment and Promotion report [https://lnkd.in/gW7VuzsF] and examined recently published gender pay gap data [https://lnkd.in/ggScBywc]. The Australian Gender Pay Gap Report 2023 (released in February 2024) found there was a 21.7% pay gap between women and men. In some of the sectors we recruit for, Healthcare and Teaching are amongst those with the best results, while Professional Services and IT have greater challenges. Over the last 10 years women in management have increased at every level – except CEOs, and representation on boards for women has remained at just 34%. We heard that women and men in Australia do not have materially different aspirations to senior leadership positions. However, many organisations who believe they are meritocratic have unconsciously allowed common biases into their hiring and promotional practices. Organisations can improve outcomes for women by reviewing their internal processes and policies – especially DE&I, and seeking external assistance. Initiatives such as increasing the availability of parental leave to men – and senior leaders modelling these practices, also helps to readdress the balance. Every one of us, regardless of gender, can take action by calling out inequality, shining a light on women’s achievements and encouraging allyship with men. Our team celebrating International Women’s Day 2024, and recognising all of the hardworking and inspirational women in our Group. The theme for this year is #InspireInclusion. The #IWD2024 campaign reminds us that when we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. (1/2) #internationalwomensday2024 #internationalwomensday #DEI

It seems we love our buzzwords in the workplace... from #QuietQuitting to #QuietFiring and #Quittok. There was #TheGreatResignation, and now a #Flexidus. Candice Lewis examines the latest hashtags to see what the real issues driving such behaviour could be. https://lnkd.in/dN8NWs2v
