“My journey in cloud productivity technologies has been driven by a passion for leveraging innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and collaboration across our organisation.” From stepping off a plane from South Africa feeling the fresh Hobart air in 2009, Vitesh Singh has become an integral part of our IT group ⚡ Vitesh’s journey with Hydro Tasmania began by providing onsite desktop support. His role quickly expanded, moving through our IT Projects and Infrastructure teams. Vitesh is now a Cloud Productivity Specialist, with the transformative potential of cloud technologies keeping his day-to-day interesting. “Over the years, my expertise has evolved significantly. I began by gaining a solid understanding of Hydro Tasmania’s core technologies, from legacy systems to the modern cloud platforms. I make sure to keep up to date with industry trends and continuous advancements in cloud technology.” Vitesh has spearheaded several projects across our organisation, with the primary goal of finding out what technology works best for everyone. “Cloud productivity solutions contribute to our operations by enabling seamless collaboration across our global teams, whether you’re in Hobart, Melbourne, New Dehli [one of our Entura offices!] or in a hydropower station in regional Tasmania.”

It's National Skills Week and what better way to celebrate than showing off some of the very impressive skills on display recently during the Gordon Power Station outage in South West Tasmania! Spearheading upgrades for Tarraleah ⚡️ The spears from the No.6 Machine at Tarraleah Power Station have been undergoing refurbishment at our Cambridge Workshop to help extend their lifespan! The spears control the flow of water from the penstocks, through the nozzle and onto the turbine. The spears will make their way back to Tarraleah later this month.

We are looking for apprentices to contribute to Tasmania's BIG renewable energy future, in BIG locations across Tasmania! Being fresh out of year 12, Libby was eager to pursue a career outdoors with hands on tasks working on BIG projects in BIG locations. “My most memorable experience so far is going inside Liapootah tunnel. It’s exciting to experience things that people don’t get to see every day!” “I was motivated to apply for this job as I knew the stability and travel opportunities… As a Trainee MA, I see a future career through Hydro Tasmania, gaining new knowledge and experience out in the field.” Do you see yourself with a future like Libby’s? The Tarraleah hydropower scheme has delivered clean energy to Tasmania for 85 years. It’s now having its future reimagined as the energy market transitions to low emissions energy sources 💧 Important upgrade works are underway to support a potential new scheme and power station, with the next stage involving construction of a new intake tower on Lake King William.
