Great result at shots yesterday. Our film - Blip Lightyears from Home - took four Golds (3D animation, Charity PSA, Sound design, Use of music), and our very own Matt von Trott won joint Gold for “Director of the Year.” Assembly also won Silver for Post Production / VFX Company of the Year. @hospitalsunitedforsickkids, CHEP Network @sonarmusicofficial FINCH Company

Hospitals United for Sick Kids and Blip are going to the AFL - Australian Football League Footy Festival! Sick kids in hospital can feel lightyears from home, missing the everyday comforts of family and friends. Especially time spent playing outside with their friends and family. The Hospitals United For Sick Kids team will be at the upcoming 'AFL Footy Festival' in Melbourne, assisted by our alliance partner, Monash Health, our agency partner, CHEP Network and some of our amazing corporate partners, we will be providing a 'home away from home'; a place where children can go to on the day to play and draw while the rest of the family learn more about how they can help sick kids across Australia. Nothing beats the taste of a home-cooked meal, and when you’re a sick kid in hospital, enjoying a meal at home with your family can feel lightyears away.   In 2024, funds raised by Hospitals United For Sick Kids supported the introduction of a dedicated Food Services Dietitian by our alliance partner in New South Wales, Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) to make the meal experience for kids being treated by Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network more about choice for kids.   As well as focusing on the increased nutrition requirements of kids recovering from illness and injury, the Food Services Dietician will also help develop menu choices designed specifically for kids, enhancing mealtimes in hospital and reducing food waste.   This helps ensure kids can enjoy delicious and nutritious meals while they receive care in hospital, and hopefully bring a little taste of home to them. How do we help sick kids get home from hospital and back to the things they miss? By ensuring our funding supports key areas research has shown to be effective in improving health outcomes for our young patients across Australia. Through our national alliance of eight children's hospitals, foundations and paediatric services who direct funds raised in the state back to the areas of greatest need, we are able to deliver local impact and create meaningful engagement with communities across Australia. We do this through targeted funding towards: 1. Improving the 'In hospital experience' for sick kids facing a hospital visit or stay. 2. Improving the 'In hospital treatment' so kids may go home sooner. 3. Proximity/In home treatment – allowing sick kids to be treated closer to or at home. 4. Preventing Hospitalisation – funding projects that proactively aim to keep children out of hospital.
