A major development in Queensland’s workers compensation law occurred last Friday when the Queensland Court of Appeal handed down judgement in Bilson v Vatsonic Communications Pty Ltd (2024) QCA 171. This significant case dealt with the enforceability of a third party’s contractual indemnity asserted against the employer in an injured worker’s claim for damages brought under the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld) (WCRA). Robert Tidbury, Partner in HopgoodGanim’s Insurance team, discusses the court’s decision: https://lnkd.in/gPYHUW9h

We're incredibly proud of Lainie Uttley and Ollie Fitzpatrick from HopgoodGanim who participated in The Salvation Army Sleepout last Friday. The Sleepout had participants spend the night away from the comfort of their home to help raise support and learn about the many challenges women experiencing homelessness face daily. Together, Lainie and Ollie raised over $2,000 for The Salvation Army's Brisbane City Women’s Homelessness Service, to help provide crisis accommodation, food, clothes and more, to women in need. Congratulations both for your efforts!
