With its unmistakable ‘koo-koo-koo-koo-koo-kaa-kaa-kaa’ call, the kookaburra is Australia’s most recognisable bird. Native to eastern Australia where it has long held cultural significance for the Nyoongar people and known to them as ‘kaa kaa’, the kookaburra takes centre stage with stunning artwork and is the third coin designed by proud Whadjuk-Yuet-Ballardong artist, Kevin Bynder. Struck from 99.99% pure silver, the Kookaburra ‘Kaa Kaa’ 2024 2oz Silver Antiqued Coloured Coin features Kevin’s unique markings symbolising white ochre, a natural earth pigment. What a fantastic turnout we had at #NationalTreeDay organised by the City of Perth! 🌳 200 volunteers, including 30 of our employees and their families, came together to plant 3550 shrubs at David Carr Memorial Park on a beautiful sunny day to support the community in creating a greener city! Following a traditional smoking ceremony, our team got their hands dirty planting trees and shrubs endemic to Western Australia to improve the tree canopy and native coverage in the area. We also had the pleasure of meeting City of Perth LM Basil Zempilas, on the day.
