About us
The Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) is a recognised industry leader in Victoria. Leading the way to help our community thrive, we live our mission to be ‘an exemplary library service’ and ‘create opportunities for our community to read, learn, work and connect with each other and the world’. Our wonderful staff group provides high quality library and information services to residents and visitors across four member council areas: Borough of Queenscliffe, City of Greater Geelong, Golden Plains Shire and Surf Coast Shire. We take seriously our role as custodians and distributors of accumulated knowledge and resources, and strive to ensure that our services, programs and collections are accessible to everyone. Our libraries are safe and welcoming spaces. We are committed to taking a digitally-progressive and innovative approach to work, and are focussed on continuous improvement. In addition to our vast physical and digital Collection, the GRLC also delivers a rich calendar of learning, literacy and cultural programs. These programs are delivered across our network which comprises our flagship branch, the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, 16 community branches and two mobiles libraries. Our network spans four council areas and covers around 5,500 square kilometres. We are proud of our important responsibilities and strong established relationships based on respect, care and kindness.

✨ Big News! ✨ We are delighted to announce in partnership City of Greater Geelong, that the brand new Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library opens to our community on Thursday 1 August! The distinctive library, located in the heart of the Armstrong Creek Town Centre precinct, was jointly funded by the City of Greater Geelong and the Victorian Government. Our fantastic team is busily working behind the scenes before opening day, unpacking pallets and stocking items. There will be 32,000 new resources plus facilities, including outdoor terraces, a children’s storytime area, and multipurpose and creative spaces—including a media studio and maker space—all available for our community to use and enjoy. Biyal-a’ (pronounced Be-al-a) is a Wadawurrung expression reflecting the surrounding valley-scape and its watercourse as a place of many red gums. We can’t wait to welcome you to Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library next month!
