Meet Somaya ✨️ Somaya recently arrived from Gaza, Palestine. “We love life in Gaza,” Somaya says. “Even with the bad situation we have, we still love our country.” Somaya learned to cook alongside her mother, grandmother and aunts “I had the curiosity to cook like them. I wanted to roll the vine leaves. I just wanted to share and taste and be in the kitchen.” And now you’re all invited to share and celebrate her culture in her new Palestinian cooking experiences. “This is my happiness,” she says. “To see the smile on others’ faces when they are eating my food, asking for the recipes. These small words make me feel on top of the world.” Filled with stories directly from the heart of Palestine, Somaya hopes to share more than her sacred recipes - the resilience, the culture, the life, the ongoing hardships of her country - holding hope that despite everything, Gaza will see better days 🩷 To take part in one of Somaya's new Palestinian cooking experiences, book using the link below xo https://lnkd.in/gusdsAf7

It's hard to find the words to describe our Story Table Series event, and the profound impact it had on all those who attended. A beautiful and moving conversation between Thae and Bahaa filled the room with awe and emotion, from tales of being forced to leave home, to advocacy, to navigating identity and belonging as refugees. With full bellies (thanks to our communal shared feast) and hearts, everyone left a little more whole ✨️ 📸 Thank you to the incredible Suzee @_soo_zee (one of our current Content Marketing Interns) for capturing the night so beautifully!

Meet Aziza and take a journey into her Eritrean heritage 🫶🏼 Raised in Saudi Arabia, Aziza’s Eritrean heritage was felt in everything she did. A culture of celebration and togetherness, Aziza was brought up in the warm embrace of Eritrean community, listening to tales of her people, and learning the ropes of cooking from her mum. It was her mother who taught her the magic of food, inviting people over often to share in the flavours. “We share our food and our happiness” she says. It’s the Eritrean way. From her out of this world fluffy and slightly sweet Himbasha dough to her Sambusa with cheese and dill fried to crispy perfection, you'll be transported straight to Aziza's home.
