Flexibility in customer energy use is an important component of the renewable energy transition, and we are exploring ways to offer retail customers solutions that make it easy to get involved and accelerate this transition. We continuously implement innovative solutions that allow customers to benefit from their ability to adjust their consumption or energy export through modifying their behaviours or through new technology solutions. At ENGIE, we develop renewable energy assets on lands traditionally owned by First Nations people. We welcome our role in continuing Australia’s reconciliation journey and aim to build upon our relationships with the communities in which we operate.    As part of our recent launch of the Goorambat East Solar Farm, we commissioned artwork by Yorta Yorta Wemba Wemba artist, Liss Cowan, to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional landowners.     The painting is named ‘Wanyarra Bayadherra (active turtle)’ and signifies 'spring is here and the little, long neck bayadherras are coming out to enjoy the warm wala.’    Learn more about the project: https://lnkd.in/db7aHVNe

We have officially broken ground on the largest Solar Farm under construction in Victoria. Victorian Minister for Climate Action, Energy and Resources and State Electricity Commission, the Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio, joined ENGIE AU Executives and team members for a sod-turning ceremony at ENGIE’s 250 MW Goorambat East Solar Farm project. We expect construction and commissioning of Goorambat East Solar Farm to be finished in 2026, helping to advance our goal of delivering 3 GW of renewable energy in Australia by 2030. Once completed, the 250 MW solar farm could generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 105,000 average Victorian homes.  Find out more: https://lnkd.in/db7aHVNe   Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Bouygues Construction Australia, Equans Solar & Storage, AusNet   #ENGIE #WithENGIE #Solar #RenewableEnergy

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating local employment opportunities in the areas where we operate, we are pleased to announce a new alliance with the Latrobe Valley office of Delta Group. Since arriving on site in 2012, Delta Group has supported ENGIE in delivering a safe, sustainable, and stable future for the Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project. In conjunction with Delta, we’ve achieved 75% local workforce engagement throughout the demolition program, and this new alliance will ensure that this high level of local engagement continues and expands. Currently, the Delta Alliance workforce at Hazelwood consists of around 60 people, with 98% of them being from the local area. #ENGIE #WithENGIE #Hazelwood

We are proud to have recently hosted a visit from a Young Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) course in the Latrobe Valley, organised by GHD. As part of the course, GHD’s Technical Director of Energy Storage & Renewables, Peter Killeen, a Latrobe Valley local, and Senior Geologist Emily Haberle took four local high school students to visit the 150 MW/ 150MWh Hazelwood Battery Energy Storage System (HBESS), built in a partnership between ENGIE and Eku Energy. During the tour, the students learned about the various components and systems that make up the HBESS and the project’s overall intention in supporting the energy transition. #ENGIE #WithENGIE #Hazelwood #STEM

We view Digitalisation and AI as powerful tools to help our customers optimise and better manage their energy consumption, ultimately supporting their sustainability journey.   Purnima Gadiyar recently joined a panel at the FACCI 2024 #Sustainability Forum to share insights on how our retail team leverages technology, such as AI, to provide customers with data-driven solutions like energy usage tracking and our Reduce & Reward program.

Our goal is to create a lasting, sustainable impact in the communities in which we operate. That’s why we collaborate with educational institutions like TAFE Gippsland, who are at the forefront of developing training for energy workers wanting to upskill and transition into the new energy space. Recently, we hosted a tour of the Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project and ENGIE and Eku Energy's Battery Energy Storage System (HBESS), with a focus on job opportunities created by the rehabilitation and remediation of Latrobe Valley brown coal mines, and new energy employment opportunities associated with Australia’s energy transition.   #ENGIE #Hazelwood #Gippsland
