About us

DISSH is an Australian fashion brand proudly owned, run, and led by women. The brand is known for its feminine silhouettes underpinned by an effortless sense of cool. Unravelling designer luxury into refined yet easy-going pieces that reflect our roots in the sunshine state of Australia. DISSH blends the elegance and consciousness of natural fibres with bold, modern designs to dress for life’s milestones and everyday moments with ease and style. With careful thought around the detail and longevity of every piece, our collections arrive with the seasons but become seasonless in your wardrobe. Owner and director, Lucy Henry-Hicks comes from a family of fashion retailers and has been in the business since a young age. In 2020, Lucy became the Director of DISSH and led the brand through a major evolution, soaring the brand to new heights through global expansion, re-defining the design and manufacturing processes and cultivating the online presence to connect with a diverse and inclusive community. DISSH has grown rapidly and we now have a team of 150 people across Australia. Our vision is to empower women globally and this starts at DISSH HQ - our employees are mainly women, all doing amazing creative work to build exciting opportunities and help the brand thrive. We hope our customers are empowered when they wear DISSH, finding a brand that speaks to their values and helps them dress for who they are. DISSH is made for the modern woman, and our designs are conscious, diverse, strong, bold and forward-thinking, just like her.

We recently brought together 15 of our incredible store leaders from across the country for an engaging two-day conference at HQ. The event was packed with insightful sessions designed to equip our team for the upcoming peak trade season. Our time together was focused on growth and preparation. Scheduling in key face time with our HQ departments to give our store leaders valuable insight into HR, Product, Brand and IT. Collaborating together to enhance their store operations and team management. We were also thrilled to unveil a first look at our recently launched new season campaign, where the team delved into the latest trends in styling, fabrication, and the inspiration behind the collection. We made sure it wasn't all work and no play, taking a moment to celebrate the successes of the last financial year with a beautiful team dinner, fostering connections and building excitement for the future. We couldn’t be more proud of the incredible dedication and hard work our retail team brings to the table every day. Their commitment to excellence is what drives our success, we are so looking forward to an incredible season ahead!

We love a EOFY long lunch. Last week we gathered the team together at Agnes restaurant to celebrate the incredible year that was. Over a few margs and personalised handwritten thank you letters, we said cheers to celebrate and thank our incredible team and a year of growth, including store openings, international showrooms, billboards, and new season campaigns shot in our very own backyard (just to name a few). As the old saying goes, 'teamwork makes the dream work', and to our team, it couldn't ring more true. Thank you for your hard work, passion, and effort. Here's to a new year to conquer (and you better believe we will).

The making of VOL24 - New Season. Our latest new season campaign took us to Broome, Western Australia. It’s a good thing a few of us know how to handle a 4WD or our latest campaign might have turned out differently. Only accessible along the unsealed Kavite Road, Reddell Beach is a natural wonder, with red rock formations standing like sculptures beside the turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean. We were so grateful to have received permission from the Yawuru people to bring to life our latest campaign on this significant location. Upon arrival, Yawuru Elder and Cultural Consultant Maree performed a welcome to country with us on Cable Beach. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Rubibi and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This August, DISSH joined the Children's Hospital Foundation for their 10th Birthday Long Lunch, celebrating a decade of world-leading care (what a milestone). Turns out, we had something to celebrate too, becoming the recipients of the 2024 Hall of Fame Award. Partnering with the Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF) and the Mary McConnel Career Boost Program – an initiative established to honour the pioneering woman who inspired Queenslanders to re-evaluate the care and treatment of sick children – we’ve made a pledge to donate $450,000 to three inspiring female researchers in a bid to close the gender gap in academic research. In 2024, women only account for 20 percent of senior academics in Australian universities and research institutes. It doesn’t take a scientist to realise the scales are unbalanced. With our pledge, we hope to even out the playing field through financial aid and opportunity.

Encoreship applications are now open for 2024. The barrier-breaking Encoreship initiative returns for it's fourth consecutive year. For those not up to speed, The Encoreship is a three-month work placement that provides employment to women facing challenges re-entering the workforce. It's our call to action to support women in regaining their financial independence, building confidence, and upskilling while offering ongoing support to achieve their goals. Applications are now open via the link below, and in the words of our Encoreship alumni Lisa O’Connell - "You won't regret it". https://lnkd.in/g7T6sa64

New store, swanky new address: James Street precinct, opening 2024.   We are excited to announce our next store location in the iconic James Street precinct. For this project, we will again collaborate with Brahman Perera — the interior designer behind our Bondi, Warringah and Perth stores — to bring this next step in our vision to life.    A chilli marg at Hellenika to celebrate, anyone?

This Pride Month, we give back to the community that has shaped the industry we work in by supporting one LGBTQIA+ student. Meet our 204 Pride Grant scholar, Nathalie. As a brand and business that celebrates diversity in all facets, we put our values into action this Pride Month, investing in the future of fashion with the return of our Pride Grant. An Australian-wide initiative, this year we pledged $15,000 to the tuition of one LGBTQIA+ Creative Industries’ student. A QUT Bachelor of Fashion Design student, Nathalie’s story and talent was one we felt compelled to support. To ensure the industry we know, love, and work in continues to grow at the hands of those who bring new perspectives, new ideas, and new inspiration, we’re excited to announce Nathalie as our 2024 Pride Grant recipient.
