Now in its third year, this program celebrates young designers and innovators shaping the future of design. Reflecting on their experiences, Remy emphasised the opportunities to attend leadership workshops, participate in panel discussions, and receive media training. Last month, COX Director Richard Coulson joined Kat Feeney on Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio to discuss the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge as it enters the home stretch.   “It takes many hands to build the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge. Earlier this month, COX participated in EmAGN WA - Emerging Architects and Graduates Network (WA)'s inaugural 'Archi-Peers: Speed Mentoring' event—an initiative designed to facilitate quick yet impactful interactions between mentors and mentees. When Adelaide Botanic High School (ABHS) opened in 2019, it set a new benchmark as South Australia's first vertical school, combining the latest thinking in design pedagogy with an innovative approach to education. The school's success has since sparked a surge in enrolment interest, prompting a major expansion project. This development accommodates 700 additional students and introduces over 9,000 square metres of new learning spaces. By drawing on insights from the existing school and engaging with the community, this expansion further cements ABHS as a benchmark for contemporary learning environments. The use of innovative, lightweight structures has helped shape contextualisation of major stadia across the globe. COX Director Alastair Richardson will be exploring this timely topic in Melbourne at the upcoming LSAA - Lightweight Structures Association of Australasia 2024 Design & Award Conference from 12-13 September.     During his keynote address, Alastair will examine the use of contextualisation and designing for place in the ‘cathedrals’ of sport. Congratulations to Field Construct for winning the 'Commercial/Industrial Building from $5 million up to $15 million' category at the Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards for the Screen Queensland Studios in Cairns. COX, in collaboration with CA Architects, transformed a former Bunnings Warehouse into the state-of-the-art Major Sound Studio, complete with supporting creative and operational spaces. This innovative development is set to enhance film production and boost cultural tourism in Far North Queensland, capitalising on the region's natural beauty and appeal as a premier filming location.
