On Friday, 16 August, we had the pleasure of hosting a Gas Industry Day for 75 enthusiastic students from various local schools. The event was coordinated by The Neil Porter Legacy and was a collaborative effort with Beach Energy Ltd and Lochard Energy aimed at inspiring the next generation of energy professionals. We welcomed Year 10,11 and 12 students from Camperdown, Derrinallum, Cobden Timboon and Hampden schools. One of the features of the day was the tour of Cooper Energy’s Athena Gas Plant for the Camperdown and Hampden students. They had the unique opportunity to explore the plant, including an exclusive visit to the control room. They were interested in the operations, technology and the process to ensure the safe and efficient production of gas. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into the gas industry and sparked some curiosity among the students. We are thrilled to have been part of their journey and look forward to seeing some of these bright minds join our industry in the future. A big thank you to The Neil Porter Legacy and all the students and schools for participating. Thanks also to our industry colleagues at Beach Energy and Lochard Energy, for making this day a success! #EnergyIndustry #FutureProfessionals #STEMEducation #GasIndustry #InspiringYouth #IndustryTours #AthenaGasPlant

Congratulations to the Orbost Gas Processing Plant (OGPP) team for achieving a number of production records last week - just in time for another winter cold snap in Victoria! The plant produced 68.2 TJs on Saturday 27 July, its highest-ever rate and above its nameplate capacity of 68 TJ/day. On the same day the OGPP set its 7-day average production record of 66.8 TJ/day. Including figures from Sunday 28 July, the plant set records for 10-day average (65.2 TJ/day) and 14-day average (61.3 TJ/day) production. The production records reflect the hard work of the whole OGPP and broader Cooper Energy team on the Orbost Improvement Project, which has targeted processing and reliability improvements at the plant. Cooper Energy continues to strive to increase production into the tight Southeast Australian gas markets. Chart source: AEMO, https://lnkd.in/g9VMWCMT

Embracing the Circular Economy: Cooper Energy's Sulphur Trial Partnership with Gippsland Ag Group   In an exciting development that highlights the potential of the circular economy, Cooper Energy has partnered with Gippsland Ag Group to conduct a groundbreaking sulphur trial. This innovative project aims to compare the effectiveness of sulphur produced by Cooper Energy's gas plant with imported commercial sulphur purchased as a fertiliser.   The trial is being carried out on a nearby beef and sheep property, providing a practical setting to evaluate the performance of the two sulphur sources. The goal is to determine if the sulphur produced locally by the Orbost gas plant can be effectively used as a fertiliser in the Gippsland region, potentially reducing the need for sulphur imports.   Sulphur is one of the big four fertiliser elements crucial for assisting with soil microbiology, and this trial represents a significant step towards sustainable agricultural practices. By using sulphur from the gas plant, the partnership aims to create a more sustainable and cost-effective solution for local farmers.   This collaboration not only benefits the agricultural community by potentially reducing their reliance on imported fertilisers, but also showcases the principles of the circular economy. By transforming a by-product of the gas plant into a valuable resource for agriculture, Cooper Energy and Gippsland Ag Group are setting an example of how industries can work together to create environmental and economic benefits.   The sulphur trial is a testament to the innovative spirit of both organisations and their commitment to sustainability.   Stay tuned for more updates on the results of this promising partnership and its impact on sustainable farming practices.   ---   **About Cooper Energy**   Cooper Energy produces Australian gas for Australians and is proudly part of Australia’s energy future.
