Having a purpose may be the right thing to do, but does it actually pay? Check out the white paper “The Payback on Purpose,” by Jump Associates below. They provide a definition for purpose-driven companies that is complete, objective, and measurable. Whether you’re looking to help your organization become more purpose-driven or are just starting out, purpose is a priority that leaders can no longer ignore. Download and explore the white paper here: https://lnkd.in/gkDzw6p4
Having a purpose may be the right thing to do, but does it actually pay? Brand controversies troubling companies like Bud Light, Target, and Disney have leaders concluding that when it comes to taking a stand, there’s nothing to gain and everything to lose. After all, there has never been solid proof that there’s a payoff to purpose initiatives—until now. In our latest report, “The Payback on Purpose,” we provide a definition for purpose-driven companies that is complete, objective, and measurable. It’s also a playbook for growth, as it turns out. We found that over a 20-year period, purpose-driven companies (including firms like Novo Nordisk, lululemon, Chipotle, Whole Foods Market, and Alphabet) achieved a compound annual growth rate of 13.6%. During that same period, the S&P 500 yielded only 5.9%. That means that if you invested $150,000 in the S&P 500 in 2000, you’d come away with $475,614. If you invested $10,000 in each of the fifteen purpose-driven companies, you’d have $1,935,719. Whether you’re looking to help your organization become more purpose-driven or are just starting out, delve into our proprietary research and you’ll find that purpose is a priority that leaders can no longer ignore. Cherry Ward is an ecosystem-builder with a holistic approach, specialising in leadership, culture and sustainability transformation. Realizing that true sustainability leadership starts from within and extends to the broader systems in which leaders operate, Cherry developed the SHIFT framework to equip participants with the mindset and capabilities required to drive positive, lasting change towards sustainability and responsible business practices. Integrating regenerative practices, inner development and complex adaptive systems approaches, her methodology inspires organisations to make a positive, lasting impact on their ecosystems. Founder and Managing Director of Bluebird Leadership, Cherry is a seasoned leader, consultant, facilitator, and executive coach who empowers leaders to drive systemic change. She brings decades of experience in leadership development to a global clientele that spans diverse industries and geographies, and her career includes senior roles in people and culture within large organisations across the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. Cherry will share her personal journey of transformation and insights on why and how inner development is central to conscious leadership and culture, and being future fit. Heather Lawrence learned early in life about justice and the desire to belong and be understood. The mystery of these driving forces led her to a life of advocacy for all 'voices' often silenced. A few years ago Heather realised, we don't need more 'lone entrepreneurs' or 'leaders'. We must learn to collaborate across our differences to heal intergenerational trauma and transform systems to allow all life on earth to flourish again. Her latest project is as a co-founder of the project: Ears of the Heart. An Indigenous led initiative that brings together the latest in western understandings of Systems Transformation with Indigenous knowledges, to learn new ways to listen to each other, Human to Human, for a more conscious awareness of the disconnects that exist between ourselves, the natural world and with one-another. The big intention of Ears of the Heart is to enable individual and collective actions in the world that connect with our deepest inner knowing of who we are and what we want to do in our 'Work' (with a capital W). Come along to our next event on the Inner Development Goals to hear Heather’s story and provocation about ways that our listening can assist or act as a barrier to the wisdom within and assist us to understand ourselves and each other more than we think we do. And let’s explore what could it mean for Business to develop Inner and Outer Awareness for good work in the world. Carly Hayes, Kathy Hilyard and Mary-Claire McDonald and co-founders of colectiva and the Inner Development Goals Hub, Canberra. Discovering the work of the Inner Development Goals by accident at a Festival in Portugal seemed like fate and they became the Canberra Hub Coordinators in August of this year. They want to grow and spread the capabilities and qualities espoused through the IDG framework to mobilize collective action. The team know that all complex challenges demand novel ways of thinking, being and acting and are fascinated with helping to cultivate the leadership practices we need and the social networks to make progress on the big challenges of our time. With this big idea in mind they joined forces to start-up ‘colectiva’. Carly, Kathy and Mary-Claire, all have consulting as their backgrounds and recent Big 4 consulting experience. They have a combination of experience in leadership roles in people, transformation and leadership and have worked with public, private and nfp organisations too on large and small scale transformation projects. At our upcoming event on the Inner Development Goals, they will share a story and provocation about our collective identity and relationship with self-others. Join us to explore how we can use the IDGs individually, socially and culturally to help shift Australia and NZ from individualistic to collective.
