As part of our Sister City program, the Town of Takasu Council in Hokkaido Japan is inviting one Gold Coast resident to be employed as an Assistant English Language Teacher at local schools for a period of 12 months (1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026). We recently led a delegation of 8 accommodation providers to the NoVacancy Hotel & Accommodation Expo in Sydney! Each provider has identified budgets for renovations and tech upgrades to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers. Our goal? To ensure the Gold Coast’s accommodation sector remains vibrant, innovative, and appealing amidst an ever-changing city landscape and a new wave of hotels in the investment pipeline. By promoting reinvestment initiatives, we’re helping existing properties stay competitive and exceed visitor expectations. At the Invest Gold Coast Networking Hour, we were thrilled to have 200 registered businesses hear about the city’s hotel investment pipeline and major public investments. In response to the December and January disaster event and the economic losses that faced local businesses, we launched the Neighbourhood Recharge voucher program with deals to claim at eligible, registered businesses. Almost 5000 vouchers were sold, with $493,100 of new revenue directly expended in these businesses - which is an average of almost $19,000 in consumer benefit to each registered business.
