A Community Farm in the Heart of the City
About us
Collingwood Children’s Farm is a working farm which supports social inclusion by delivering a range of programs which develop self-esteem, self-worth and connectedness. Corporate team experiences at the farm play a key role in the ongoing sustainability of Collingwood Children’s Farm’s programs. Corporate contributions allow the farm to address issues, such as climate change and building community for those facing adversity. The farm facilitates the participation of children and their families in broader community life and a connection to animals and nature. Educational opportunities around urban agriculture, as well as pathways to further employment, are provided for students and community. It takes many hands to run a farm, and we've had a strong start to autumn with thanks to our corporate volunteers whose hands-on work makes a tangible difference to CCF and the communities we serve. Learn more & book here: https://lnkd.in/g9m_xZ9U
As part of our 2024 culture plan, my sales team expressed desire to participate in corporate volunteer events, centred around giving back to the community. Today, we had our first event at Collingwood Children's Farm! 🐷 🦆🌿 It was a fantastic day, getting to learn about the history of the farm and its commitment to deliver on environment impact and engagement with disadvantaged members of the community. Our team put down the sales tools and picked up new tools in the form of shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows, to compost and mulch the gardens at the entrance of the farm. All this was followed by a delicious lunch at the farm. If you are looking for a great corporate volunteer event in Melbourne, I highly recommend Collingwood Children’s Farm! Special thank you to Madeline Martin for organising the event on behalf of the leadership team and to MYOB for encouraging teams to participate in volunteer events through our CSR ‘Giving’ policy.

I was thrilled to be part of Collingwood Children’s Farm's Urban Agriculture Month panel! 🌿 It was an inspiring session, delving into diverse perspectives on Urban Agriculture's goals and practicalities. The insights shared by my fellow panelists were both fascinating and eye-opening as we all have our own unique challenges and successes. Exploring the future potential of food production in our cities felt invigorating, especially considering the need for resilience in the times ahead. The thoughtful gesture of a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and a delightful goodie bag from the hard working Collingwood Children’s Farm Team was truly heartwarming. 🌻

Awesome Foundation Melbourne is excited to make the moo-moos at Collingwood Children’s Farm happier cows! Nestled on the banks of Birrarung, Collingwood Children’s Farm was founded in 1979 to support and engage local children experiencing adversity. A much loved non-profit organisation, the Farm gives children in an urban environment a chance to connect to nature and care for animals. There are a number of animals on the paddock including several cows, horses, goats and sheep. For many children, it's the first place they will interact with these animals up close. This project provides an even better life for the animals on the farm by providing them with a 'Cow Scratcher'! Animals absolutely love them and it genuinely improves their quality of life. It will also be great for the children visiting the farm to see horses, cows and goats happily scratching away.
