Last month, we introduced LinkedIn to the #LionelAwards – a way to recognise our amazing team members who go above and beyond to improve our culture and positively impact the communities we live in. This month, we’re spotlighting the incredible Karen Millwood, who has been with Bunnings for almost 20 years. Along with her work at Bunnings, Karen has been a shining light in her local community through her volunteer work with Rosies - Friends on the Street, supporting homelessness. Karen has volunteered with Rosies since 2016 at the Logan branch in QLD, where she rosters all the volunteers for Logan (approx. 65 people), trains new volunteers or team leaders when necessary, visits to stakeholders who donate (schools, businesses, community groups, childcare) to pick up donations and has, at times, gone to events to speak about Rosies and what they do. Thank you to Karen for not only making Bunnings a better place, but improving the Logan community as a whole. We’re proud to have you on our team. #BunningsLife

🎵 So, did anybody predict us hosting the #BunningsWarehouseParty this time last year? After a groundswell of social media support, our team found a way to bring together talented local artists and over 1,000 partiers to our Preston Warehouse for a once-in-a-lifetime event. Featuring NayNay, Kaila, What So Not, Peking Duk and Bunnings’ very own team member Lottie, the Bunnings Warehouse Party went off last weekend. We were absolutely blown away by the support from the community with tickets selling out almost instantly. Most importantly, $50,000 was raised and contributed to Support Act, going towards creating a safe and thriving local music industry. Thanks so much to everyone who joined in to celebrate local music either in attendance at Preston or online and for embracing such a different Bunnings experience! We brought the snags, you brought the vibes! 💃🕺 📷 Pat Stevenson Photography

☀️ We’re feeling pretty Sunny at Bunnings, because one of our own will be making her AFLW debut for the Gold Coast SUNS this weekend! At a team meeting earlier this week, Bunnings team member and Gold Coast Sun superstar Annabel Kievit was surprised by fellow Gold Coast Sun Georgia Clayden with the news she’d be playing her first senior game against St Kilda on Saturday. Good luck for your first game Annabel, you’ll have a personal cheer squad of over 50,000 Bunnings team!

Hot on the heels of celebrating the 30th anniversary of our first iconic Bunnings Warehouse store in Sunshine, Victoria, we’re pleased to announce our sales and earnings results for the 2024 financial year. Despite the difficult economic environment and cost of living pressures for consumers across Australia and New Zealand, our foundations of everyday lowest prices, wide range and great service ensured we were able to grow revenue by 2.3 per cent and earnings by 2.6 per cent, excluding net property contributions. Our gratitude goes to our amazing 50,000-plus team members, who continue to go above and beyond for our customers every day. We’re investing back into our store teams through training, leadership development, safety improvements, new job opportunities and industry-leading benefits. None of this would be possible without the wonderful partnership of our suppliers (many of whom have been with us since day one). Whether longstanding or new to us, our suppliers play a critical role in helping ensure our range remains relevant, affordable and available on shelves for our customers. We sincerely thank them all. We also stepped-up support for local communities throughout the year, with store teams running and hosting almost 80,000 community activities, with $61million raised for local causes and initiatives. You can find out more in our 2024 Community & Sustainability Report. https://lnkd.in/gqGub-kB Finally, a massive thanks to our customers. Without you, there is no Bunnings, and we aim to continue providing the best prices, widest range and quality service for the next 30 years and beyond.

🤝 79,883 community activities 🌭 34,062 sausage sizzles 💲 $61.1M in community contributions   At Bunnings, we know that our communities need support, recognising that more traditional channels of support including government funding can’t meet all the needs all the time.   Our team know what it means to be local – they live and raise their families in cities and regional communities across Australia and New Zealand. Or as we say: “We live here too.”   Every week our team are out in their communities actively contributing to activities, programs, or initiatives from helping to build koala habitats, school vegie patches, or cooking snags – just to name a few!   And our team love to welcome communities into our stores creating spaces that are safe, inclusive, and supportive.   From all of us, we want to say a huge thanks to every community group and not-for-profit organisation for all the work you do to help millions of Australians and New Zealanders.   Read about our commitment to living local in this year’s Community & Sustainability Report below. #Bunnings #Community #WeLiveHereToo

Thirty years ago this week, we opened our first warehouse-format store in Sunshine, Victoria.   With its wider aisles, product laid out in bulk pallets, handwritten tickets and massive range it was a real departure from our traditional stores.   Rob and Glenda were part of the team that opened the original warehouse, ushering in the modern Bunnings. After all this time, they’re still proud members of our Bunnings family and in this video recall what it took to open the first big green shed.   From the outset, we were committed to our pillars of lowest prices, widest range and best experience to earn the trust of our customers as they maintain and improve their homes, get the job done on building sites, and keep their businesses moving.   Over thirty years we’re proud that our team and our warehouse format has helped make DIY something more people can participate in. And that a trip to the hardware store has become a weekend ritual the whole family can enjoy, including a stop at the sausage sizzle to support a local charity.   Thank you to our team (past and present), to our suppliers and to our customers for the role you’ve played in making Bunnings Warehouse the place it is today.

Our Stores for Paws campaign wrapped up last week, following a jam-packed weekend of pet-themed events and activities in our stores across Australia and New Zealand.   Over three days, our stores hosted more than 300 local animal rescue and welfare groups and raised over $235,000. With nearly 3000 enquiries, hundreds of pets were adopted as part of the initiative.   Meet Stella, the 10-week-old staffy cross puppy, who found her fur-ever home with the help of RSPCA NSW at our Bathurst store over the weekend. Stella is already getting along great with her older sibling, Waylan   A huge shout out to our teams across Australia and New Zealand for throwing your support behind this important cause and bringing it to life in our stores. Your enthusiasm and care has helped us make a genuine difference to pets in need and the community groups that care for them - thank you and well done on an incredible effort! 🐾   #StoresForPaws #Pets

We are really excited to be supporting local animal welfare and rescue groups across Australia and New Zealand this weekend through our ‘Stores for Paws’ program. 🐾   For anyone thinking about adoption, Stores for Paws is a great opportunity to speak to your local animal rescue group about the process and whether it’s the right fit for you. Each store will be running their own local activity to support the campaign including information tables about pet adoptions and a national pet-themed kid’s D.I.Y. workshop.   Help 14-year-old Pirate Pete find his fur-ever home. Pirate Pete is deaf and has had one eye removed but that doesn’t stop him from being the perfect companion.   He is very affectionate, and his favourite activities are going for walks and having a snooze.   Pirate Pete and many other pets will be available for adoptions at our stores between Friday 9th and Sunday 11th August.   #Pets #StoresForPaws

Do you remember Lionel? Lionel was Bunnings’ well-loved line-drawing character who appeared in our television ads until 2005 and earlier this year, we launched the Lionel Awards, to recognise Bunnings team who go over and above in demonstration of our culture and values. Since launching in April, more than 1,200 of our team have received a Lionel Award and 13 of our team from across Australia and New Zealand have just earned our highest Lionel recognition for their outstanding commitment to living our values. Meet Dave, who helped get people to safety after a boardwalk collapse while on holiday in Papua New Guinea. His work supporting the injured people inspired one of our customers to contact Bunnings and let us know of Dave’s courage and what a great team member we had. If you’re lucky enough to see a team member with the Lionel pin on their apron next time you’re in store, feel free to ask them how they contributed to making the Bunnings culture one to be proud of. A HUGE congratulations to all winners of the Lionel Awards so far, we’re really looking forward to sharing more of the amazing work from our team do for their community. #LionelAwards

As the Olympics officially launches this week, Bunnings is proud to have one of our very own team members Claire Colwill competing as a Hockeyroo!  Growing up in Mackay Queensland, Claire started playing hockey in primary school and made her professional debut as a Hockeyroo at just 18, playing in the Women’s World Cup and Commonwealth Games. Claire has been part of the Bunnings team since 2022, starting out in one of our Queensland stores on the registers and then working across different areas of the store. When her hockey career took her to Perth, she stayed part of the Bunnings team in WA. Paris will be Claire’s first Olympic Games which she has described as an incredible opportunity to represent Australia, doing what she loves with mates and a true dream experience. Her teammates recently celebrated Claire successfully making the Olympic Hockeyroos team and describe her as an awesome team member and an even better person. We wish Claire a big congratulations and all the best at the games. We’ll all be cheering you on to go for gold! 🥇 🏑
