Australian's love a good weekender. That's why in partnership with Avis Rent a Car we've created "The Road Trip Hit List," a curated guide to the top road trip destinations across Australia. This isn't your typical travel guide focused solely on destinations. Instead, we’re celebrating the entire journey—from picking up your Avis rental car at the airport, to the first stop at a charming countryside bakery, and onward to the wineries and beaches that await discovery. We've gone from Brisbane to Noosa, Launceston to Freycinet, Perth to Margaret River and more. Plus we spoke to artist Lowell Hunter about his favourite road trip along his beloved Great Ocean Road. Check out our Road Trip Hit List here - https://lnkd.in/dGidyhXi Ready to explore? Let’s hit the road! Thank you to Rachael Hinkson, Marek Stutika, and the Broadsheet team Camille Repellin Julia Monaco

Australia’s hospitality industry is vibrant, dynamic and home to some of the best restaurants in the world. But it’s also plagued with demons including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual harassment and assault in the workplace. The latter was recently highlighted in an exposé from The Sydney Morning Herald, which alleges systemic and normalised mistreatment of hospitality staff, particularly women, within Sydney’s Swillhouse hospitality group. In wake of the reporting that revealed allegations of serious misconduct, we spoke with Jamie Alexandra Bucirde of Not So Hospitable – who earlier this year published a landmark report on sexual harassment in hospitality – about reporting on misconduct and finding help afterwards, whether you’re a staff member or customer. Read the full story at the link below. This article discusses sexual harassment and assault. If this raises issues for you or someone you know, please see the list of support resources at the end of the article.

We love our dads all year round, but Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show him just how much. In partnership with Grant Burge Wines, we’ve rounded up a selection of gifts for the discerning dad, from slides, belts and hand-care to wine, coffee plungers and hot sauce. To help you celebrate in style, we’ve put together a selection of gifts for dads of all stripes – even the ones who honestly just want a dressing gown and a new pair of socks. Plus, we’re offering the chance for one lucky reader to take home all the gifts in this guide, cementing your position as Dad’s favourite (or if your golden-child status is secure, they’d make swanky additions to your own home too). Introducing Broadsheet’s latest digital issue, The Entertainers, with one of Australia's hottest stars – Troye Sivan – on the cover. The Aussie musician and actor talks about his “overnight” rise to fame, his Brat summer, and how he still gets nervous going on The Project. Plus, why the influence of internet culture on his music cannot be overstated: “It’s really integral to who I am,” he says. “I think especially as a queer person growing up not knowing any queer people, I really leant on the internet and an online community for a sense of place.” Read the full feature, with words by James Williams: https://lnkd.in/gGAFdvXg 📸 Mecca / Nicole Cooper

This week, in Broadsheet's latest print edition with Domain Review, we sit down with Chef Jung Eun Chae. Her intimate six-seat home restaurant, Chae, has one of the longest waitlists in Australia. Now, she’s sharing her home fermenting methods in a new cookbook. We also talk to Chae and her partner Yoora Yoon about vinegars and kimchi, K-dramas and why work-life balance is overrated. Read more, with words by Audrey Payne: https://lnkd.in/g3Xw_zAN A huge shoutout to the wonderful Broadsheet team that brought this feature to life: Ella Witchell and Ben Siero for their creative direction, Gitika Garg and Gideon Cohen for producing the feature, and Jessica Kirsopp for managing the team. And, of course, our Domain Review editor Jo Walker. Plus, a huge thank you to our photographer Peter Tarasiuk.
