We were pleased to be able to host Hon Mark Shelton at our Longford, Tasmania brick manufacturing site. Being part of the local community, Mark was excited to get an in depth look at the site and be better informed about some of the great achievements and initiatives being carried out. Over the last decade we have avoided over 70,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, at our Longford Operation, through the use of saw dust which is a renewable fuel. These efforts helped us become the first and only clay brick and paver manufacturer to achieve carbon neutral certification through Climate Active for our Longford Tasmania operation. A big thank you to Mark Shelton for taking the time to come out and visit our site. #brickworksbp #tasmania #longford #carbonneutral #manufacturing #buildingproducts #locallymade #sustainablemanufacturing Matthew Gordon, MBA

We were excited to host the Honourable Leader of the Opposition, The Hon. Peter Dutton MP, Shadow Treasurer, Angus Taylor MP and Melissa McIntosh MP, Federal Member for Lindsay, at our Western Sydney Plant 2 site. The team took a guided tour through our new state-of-the-art facility and got to see first-hand some of the exciting initiatives that Brickworks have been working on. This includes the recent installation of 3MW of Solar Panels which is equivalent to the energy used in 442 residential houses in Sydney. Once fully operational, this system will reduce our electricity consumption by 19% for the factory. After three years of hard work, Western Sydney Plant 2 is now in the final stages of commissioning. Plant 2 will surpass any other brick factory in Australia in terms of technology, efficiency and output. This investment represents a 50-year commitment to the NSW building industry. Brickworks is now well placed to meet the demands of the NSW housing market and to supply our valued clients with the highest quality products. A big thank you to Peter Dutton and the team for their support and time - we look forward to hosting you again soon. #brickworksbp #westernsydney #manufacturing #bricks #brickmanufacturing #sydney #nsw Mark Ellenor Avery Spackman David Fitzharris Emily Antonio Melissa Perrow Allen Jamba

We are proud to announce that our UrbanStone Australian Natural Granite stone products now have a Declare label, classifying them as a healthy building product. This confirms these products are “red list free” which lists chemicals that are known to have negative impacts on human health. UrbanStone Australian granites are sourced from quarries in Western Australia and South Australia and can be processed in Australia or offshore depending on project requirements. Granite is selected for use on projects as it is one of the most hard-wearing surfaces, offering a low-maintenance and naturally-beautiful material for use in paving, tiling and walling-cladding applications. This week we have officially kicked off our inDETAIL speaker series, with Jan Peter Wingender from office_winhov B.V. Office Winhov was awarded the ARC Oeuvre Award in 2016 and named ‘Architect of the Year’ in 2023 for its work and contribution to the profession. With a team of 25 they work, together with clients and partners, on new construction and the reuse of existing buildings and listed heritage in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium. Their craftsmanship lies in the combination of the artistic, the technical and the professional, in which personal engagement and the ongoing quest for quality and sustainability are paramount. Office Winhov believe that architecture is more than just realizing buildings. It is a collective and constantly evolving field. Their voice is heard through architectural education and research, and by participating in committees, juries, and editorial boards. They are also the initiators of the platform 'Local Heroes' and the architecture lecture series 'Design-by-thinking-of'. In this way, they connect locally and internationally with the breadth of the profession and our peers. This events are hosted by Stephen Varady, architect and collaborator, who shares Brickworks passion for architecture, design and innovation. We would love to see you for our remaining events in...
