It was great to see many of our Tasmania clinicians join us at the picturesque Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania on Saturday for our annual Clinical Update Day in Hobart. Our program covered various topics relevant to primary care, including Chronic Kidney Disease, iron deficiency, cervical screening, atopic dermatitis, and management of minor burns. The modern facility is located just 950m from their previous building. Last night, The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)'s SA Faculty, in collaboration with the University of Adelaide and Flinders University, met for the 'Raising the Prestige of General Practice Think Tank'. With just 13.8% of medical students considering general practice as a preferred career path, the Think Tank aims to develop strategies to attract more SA medical students into GP training within the next year. The event was attended by Government ministers, GPs, registrars, medical students, and academics, including Better Medical practising GPs Dr Kas Melville and Dr Sarah Parker.
